Our take
Based on the ratings of 4,603 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in October 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
Akash Sehrawat's course is a short, video-led introduction to yoga that ends with a CPD-accredited certificate. It runs about four hours over 98 lectures, and the biggest block is the asana module, with 59 quick pose clips adding up to roughly 88 minutes. The rest covers types of yoga, the eight limbs, breathing, a starter pack and a few routines. The only requirements are a mat and some willingness to practice. Anyone hoping for full teacher training will need to look elsewhere.
Reviewers mostly like how approachable it is. Beginners call it easy to follow and well explained, one praises how Sanskrit terms are translated right after they are said, and others describe Akash as informative, considerate and knowledgeable. One plans to use it in their own yoga class. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says important poses such as Sirsasana are missing and that the instructor's own form, for example in downward dog, has flaws. Another calls the content good but superficial, with harder poses not demonstrated well. Older reviews mention a broken diploma link and a file that would not open.
Most of the 4,603 ratings are four or five stars, and the 4.5 average fits what the text says: solid for a first pass, thin for anything deeper. It was last updated in October 2025, which helps. Treat it as a friendly overview with a certificate attached, then add a live class so someone can check your alignment. One reviewer gave that same advice. For a first look at yoga, it is easy to recommend.

I am focusing on pronunciation of all the Sanskrit. I like how you explain the meaning of the words right after. During my sessions - i review all videos almost 2-3 times. at time point - now that most words are familiar to me and not so stressful to follow and retain the language. otherwise the learning process had become lighter. thank you.

This is my first yoga course and it is very easy for me to learn and the information and knowledge in this course is very well thought. This course is suitable for beginners and they can easily learn this course…I had very good experience with this course . Thankyou.

First of all thanks to Akash for creating this awsome course. I was a total beginner in yoga, I knew nothing about yoga. After taking this course, I have learned a lot of things about yoga. His teaching styles are good and material he has given was also good just had one or two words mistyped. Other than that the course was nice.

i didnt get what i was looking for. he isnt that good in terms of doing yoga and his posture alignment and positions were not that of yogi, that is because he himself says that he isnt a yogi but more of a fitness instructor. but what i liked about akash is he gave his 100 percent to go through various studies about yoga and shared that knowledge with us which was informative. so full marks on that.

There two ADVANTAGES od course: 1) Certificate (in case you need it) 2) A big PDF file with SOME asanas and description Here are two DISADVANTAGES: 1) Many important asanas not even mentioned (Sirsasana etc) many important tips and technique is not explained fully. 2) Performance is not really up to level. Many poses instructor does not show correctly himself, cannot perform required (for ex. Downward dog bak is rounded, wich should not be) or has many flaws. A lot of room for impovement. I really advise you to start in offline proffesional yoga studio first, where teacher can correct you and explain basics. As a comination of Price\Value it is still a good deal. You will not get cheaper than that)

I am liking the course. Just one suggestion for instructor- if they could emphasize more when to inhale, exhale, hold the breath and engage the core during asanas in a more clear way, it would be even better. Even if the duration of the video exceeds upto 2-3 minutes, its alright. But just a little confusion in some chapters (asanas) regarding how to breathe. Thank you!

I really like Akash's dedication as an instructor. He has over 10 years of experience and has done a great job of informing people not to just stop at the certification but keep progressing in their career. He has taken a lot of efforts himself like posting on Quora so much that he gained a following of 8 million. I like his slow way of explaining as well as being beginner friendly. Having suffered a lot of health problems myself I needed a slow course like this.
By Sarah Mwewa Chongo on 3/13/2019
I have been practicing yoga for a long time and always wanted to teach it. I never had the confidence until I took this course. Concepts I never understood before were clearly explained and I have learned new asanas as well. I'm so glad I took this course and grateful to Akash for making it available.
By Amy DiFranco on 1/25/2019
I enjoyed this course as a beginner yoga participant. It gave me the history, the meaning of each pose, and back ground as to what each pose is beneficial for. I look forward to practicing each pose to help strengthen and increase mobility and deeper mediation. Thank you!
