Steve McDonald's course is a 36 minute, nine lecture walk through building one very small database in Microsoft Access. It covers the dashboard and ribbon, then a table, a query, a form and a report. It's free and assumes no Access knowledge. The description says plainly that it won't make you a pro. The aim is to make the vocabulary familiar, so that when a boss mentions queries or reports, you know what they mean.

Reviewers like how plain it is. Many call it clear, quick and easy to follow, including people who had never touched a database. One says the teacher is funny and systematic, another likes that there's little unnecessary talking. The complaints are small. One reviewer wanted assignments and found the final quiz too easy. Another hoped for at least a basic look at every tab. One person found the audio unclear, even through headphones. Of 4,291 ratings, about 3,600 are four or five stars.

Last updated in 2019, so the screens may not match the version of Access on your computer exactly. Next to longer courses in the same category, such as the Access 2016 Master Class, this one is a sampler, not a curriculum. That's fine for what it costs. Watch it first to see whether Access suits your needs, then move to a longer course if the goal is to build something real.

The voice is not clear. Due to which I need to put extra effort listening to it but then also not clear. Tried with a hands free on Laptop but landed in the same situation. Would recommend to re-publish the same course, rerecording the voice at good pitch and clear sound.
