Course Description
Introduction
According to Techcrunch recent article in June 2016, Virtual Reality (VR) is the next big thing. Facebook also made the bold move to acquire Occulus Rift, which is a company that designs VR headsets, for a staggering $2 billion. All data indicate that VR is the next big wave of change in the Media landscape. We've witnessed an exponential growth in availability of apps in the decade following commercial production of tablets and smart mobile phones. We can foresee that in the next decade, innovation in VR will also grow exponentially and websites will have a VR version that will allow users to view from their mobile devices+headset. As the hardware is currently getting more popular and sales are on the rise, there will be a demand for VR online applications.
Content
The course was designed to teach the students about the latest technology for developing VR websites and the easiest way to make a start in designing such websites. The easiest technology that a developer or a newbie to use to make VR websites is the A-frame, developed by Mozilla. Although this technology is at an early stage, it is slowly gaining popularity. But it would require more developers to use it and build websites with the technology in order to further develop a systematic design methodology.
The first section is about using A-Frame and building on various tags to give the student to knowledge and skills to understand and use varioius objects on a VR scene. In the next sections , you will learn simple animations and use of cursors.
This will be followed by lectures on how to use Javascript and PHP with A-frame.
The course ends with simple projects such a Multicolored bubbles, Interactive Hotel rooms view and VR shopping page.

Well, this course is perfect for learning how to create 3 D website with A-frame and partial server rendering (in this case of using xamp/php instead of nodes). Though this course is sufficient for training purpose there are many more things to do before it becomes useful. Thanks for the course. It gives me a good insight to develop 3 D stuffs. A fun course !

I thought this was a good course for learning webvr , pretty in depth and some good real world applications, adding one or two more scenarios would be good, but overall well worth the time.

Course was alright for getting your feet wet into A-Frame, but doesn't take you much beyond that. The projects could have used better design methods, and some of the videos would cut off unexpectedly, and had excessive background noise from time to time.

The course is good for absolute beginners in a-aframe. However, after a thorough description of the a-frame basics, primitives and entities, the pace suddenly goes into overdrive, when we learn how to mix a-frame with Javcascript and PHP. Of the following three projects, several new concepts are introduced and new libraries we did not see before. Also, exams are only available after the first few lessons. After those, there are none. And sometimes the lesson shows code examples that do not work like they should with the newer versions of the a-frame library (the course uses v0.3.0, the latest version now is 0.7.1). Whats more, the video is edited in such a way that the code on the screen suddenly changes, for example in lesson 26 (using Javascript with entities), the line: redbox:setAttribute('material',"color:blue"); ...which works, is changed in the blink of an eye and without explanation into: redbox:setAttribute('material.color',"blue"); ...which does not work. This is confusing. Having said this, I did enjoy learning the basics of a-frame. The course helped me on my way into exploring it further.

Really easy-to-follow course for virtual reality web development. If you are just starting into programming or you are an experienced web developer, this course is for you! Fast support from the teacher.

1. quizzes do not match up with videos (material in the questions so far is actually covered after the quiz) 2 basic information is provided, but without context.

This course takes you step by step through various important fundamentals of A-Frame. This course is great for experienced beginners and anyone else. I hope to see an updated version of this course however since A-Frame is not on v0.5.0 but this course is taught on v0.1.3 not sure much has changed but the a-frame src is not live unless it's the newer version. The editing of the video can be a little choppy at times (sentences cut off on last word). Overall I'm very happy with this course! Thanks!

I'm about half way through this course, and I think Ajmir does a good job of breaking down how to use A-frame for beginners... I'm learning a ton! A couple of small critiques... it would be helpful if he could talk about some of the differences on desktop vs mobile. For example, video doesn't work on my iPhone, and I'm not sure how to move through a scene on mobile (the equivalent to WASD on desktop), or if that's even possible. It would also be helpful if he could mention when you would use one similar tag over another. Overall though, I'm really enjoying the course. Update: I just finished the course (except for the last shopping cart example). It would be nice if the html/js files were supplied for all the exercises (not just the hotel project). It was a little tedious having to type everything out as I was following along, although maybe that was the point - learn by doing as opposed to analyzing. In the instance of the bubble project, he never showed how the last sphere.setAttribute line ended (it was off screen), so I couldn't get it to work at all (until I commented out that line, and then it seemed to work okay). So, all in all, a good intro course, but it would be helpful if he expanded a bit more on some things, and included more resource files. Thanks Ajmir!

I have absolutely no Idea what I am doing, but this lesson is great! broken into small digestible chunks that even my dumb ass can understand. Thank you for this!

Straight forward and simple. Though testing people on hexadecimal colours is pretty silly (I got a question wrong because I did not know the exact colour I was looking at?) Test them on the actual aframe library stuff they have learned.
