The instructions are clear. I started a different android app development course a few days back, I didn't understand 60% of the material. This course is crystal clear with the instruction. Looking forward to make my development skills better. Thanks to Udemy.

I found myself learning new things while watching the video however it seems like an old video. I tried to find the SDK as instructed by the first videos but i was unsuccessful because most other guides revolve around Android Studio now. Still i am learning new things so I'd say my time is not wasted.

It is one of the best courses, I really enjoyed while learning Android. The only thing which I am looking for is - use of Android Studio in place of eclipse while presenting the code samples. Looking forward for more such free courses which will increase my engagement level at Udemy.

I learned a lot. The instructor is very good at explaining the concepts. I think I would have benefited from more time spent explaining O.O.P. concepts in general. Also, I sometimes had problems trying the examples, I think, because they were written for an earlier version of the ADK.

I was looking to learn Android Programming. Not an overly watered down skim through session. I spent hours getting Android Studio working (virtual devices, and a couple library errors) to find out I don't really even work with code.

My situation was that I had no Android programming skills. I needed a course to make me comfortable with creating some android apps / functionality past 'Hello, World!'. This course does that in a nice, structured way. The pacing is fast enough to learn new stuff every lesson and fundamental enough to be able to keep the overview, know where you're at. So, I liked it. Check it out yourself.

I'm not an expert, I still haven't developed a full blown app in Android. I'm going to rate this as if I was a newbie at Android. It wouldn't be fair to rate this as someone who is more familiar with Android than a new user. If you're new to Android and want to get an understanding of some of the basics, this is a great video that will teach you the fundamentals. If you're an advanced user or are above beginning stages, you might want to find something more advanced. I rate it 5 stars because the presenter did his job and delivered the message.

This course work is very easy to understand and follow. The author has made a very good effort. The course work although less is to the point and a good enough sample to get started. The Last lecture was a good add-on. Thank You.

After spending hours trying to get the right tutorial to get started with android, I felt on this scratch course on udemy.com. Almost the whole fundamentals of android development is clearly explained. However I have noticed a lack of lecture on graphics. After completing I am able to understand the flow of execution in android, to develop a basic app on my own without any help. This course has also enabled me to quickly understand some advanced topics. Kudos to the udemy android team.

Great course I accomplished my learning objective in one day. Some feedback for the Beta version for the speaker: ➥ Many people prefer to use IntelliJ. I used the Android Studio from IntelliJ and it was much clearer to use than the Eclipse. There were some Eclipse usability issues that got in the way in the lectures. ➥ Clean code and reduce statements to a minimum. Many places you do not need to set "= null". In lecture 9 a complex if statement could just read: radio,setChecked(!radio.isChecked()) ➥ Spell out variable names such as use "View view" instead of "View v" or countriesView instead of lvCountries. ➥ The audio clarity and loudness was inconsistent between lectures. Distracting to have to adjust the sound. ➥ The blue speckled spiral notebook slide background makes is hard to read the white and black text. ➥ Not all slides text and diagrams fit on the slide screen. Fix capitalization errors. ➥ Speaker could speed up some topics and reduce the amount of repeated information, ➥ Speaker should redo audio tracks where coughing is audible. ➥ Quizzes should not ask question about "what" are the correct API methods, we can look those up. Instead should be testing more concepts like "why" difference services are available. ➥ For the examples I do not understand why not just create a regular java Thread and Tasks instead of the Android services. Course did not answer "why" enough. The lectures were easy to follow and understand. Thank you for this help!!!
