Learn PHP Programming From Scratch (Udemy.com)

Formation assez passive et longue. La formation date un peu et du coup n'aborde pas les derniers concepts de PHP 8. L'usage du Framework Laravel est hors sujet et inutile dans le contenu avec une entrée en matière mal expliqué. De plus l'installation de ce framework est très peu abordé et il est nécessaire de consulter des forums pour s'en sortir avec la dernière version. Les seules parties relativement bien abordées sont 40, 41 et 42

loving the course so far. Very to the point. I've watched only till the end of $_POST/$_GET videos, so will update the review as I move along throughout the course. He's done a great job, I've tried some other even bestselling courses (here and also on Lynda) and this one by far tops them. Cheers guys!

The course has great potential, but needs to be updated to not used deprecated functions. Also, I believe that the lectures should be planned better. In the beginning of the course, I saw the teacher think of examples a lot. With that being said, I learned a lot! I used this course to learn PHP, and knowledge wise, I'm not disappointed.

The overall course is good, but some sessions, specially the object Oriented PHP Session, have some very poor lectures. I am an experienced programmer and found the lectures on this session to be at the same time very slow paced for me and too confusing for begginers with some explanation beeing borderline wrong. I suggest a review of the overall order of the lectures.

La force de ce cours est de traiter la plupart des (nombreuses !) situations concrètes à gérer au quotidien pour la constructions d'applications web courantes en langage PHP : section blog, création automatique d'imagettes, formulaire de recherche lié à une base de données, section admin, gestion approfondie de la sécurité, etc. Si certaines parties du cours ne sont pas à jour, notamment l'utilisation de l'interface mysql au lieu de mysqli ou pdo, cela n'a pas grande importance, car il est très facile de passer de l'une vers l'autre ; par contre, les principes fondamentaux de programmation restent et resteront toujours les mêmes. Dans ce cours, ces principes sont inculqués par l'exemple, ce qui est inestimable pour tout développeur.

Everything in this course is more than I could expect. Content is well explaind and organized...the teacher explanations are very clear and given with a lot af generosity.His voice is very pleasant and this course is helping me a lot. I recommend it to everybody and thanks the teacher for all his kindness.

The course starts off relatively easy and easy to follow. It does get progressively harder as expected. There is a lot of material covered and becomes progressively harder to recall the functions and the order (sequence) of instructions for computer input. Having been exposed to MS ACCESS, I found manipulations of data somewhat easy but the preliminary steps to create data for mysql hard to follow. I find it annoying and disconcerting when the author types something on his screen to show that the script works and then deletes those statements stating they will not be needed and/or substitutes with a simpler statement (why not go for simpler form from the start?) I stop the lecture many times to make notes and copy fragments of code. I use these notes as highlights of lesson learned. It irks me that I then need to cross out the code on my notes because it won’t be needed for the purpose of the lecture and in some cases has no bearing at this time, if ever. I have programming skills but integrating PHP and MySQL I find takes much more time than that required exclusively with one program. One can skip around and focus on lessons to meet specific needs. However, if one wants to get a good handle on this course, it’s highly advisable to follow this well laid out sequence of lectures. I would like to see a transcript of this course made available. I find it easier for myself to re-read a page than to move the cursor too much / too little to point of interest on screen if I missed something. That’s my personal preference. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 only because of author types then removes statements that had no/little bearing on lecture at hand. One last comment. It would be great if there was greater clarity on-screen. It is hard to distinguish a full stop from a comma or a square bracket from a curly bracket. Again this is not a reflection on the course matter just a desire for improved screen shots. The course meets my expectations and does cover many aspects that are immediately useful or in near future. It covers a lot of material and I’m sure will address majority of reader’s questions and codes necessary to achieve a task on hand.

The instructor teaches on an easy way to understand and covers all points that you need to know about PHP. I'm very happy with the content and completely covered all my expectations. Totally recommended.

Some varying quality as older recordings are mixed in with newer but overall it is great information and an awesome course. Good for learning to program from scratch as well as picking up another language for your arsenal. *Finished the course loved it. Taking another.

PROS: 316 lectures... on pretty much everything... means that, if you get through it, you'll have a great groundwork in PHP. Lots of fun apps to build, tons to learn. CONS: Most of the material is a bit dated and relies on deprecated MySQL commands, so you'll have to figure out MySQLi or PDO yourself. Also, this is more a grab bag of different projects and principles etc., and not a linear course. You'll learn the same thing a few times, and will occasionally get lost.

The course is a great. Alex provides a thorough explanation on what a code does and what way a code is used in an application. It is well paced and the overall content is but fitting for a beginner or even advanced student. Definitely recommend to anyone.

The course is good so far. I am only about 30 lessons in and we've just gone over the basics. My review will likely change as I get further along in the course.
