Course Description

******Updated on Feb 2016********

WCF

It is a framework for building service-oriented applications. Using WCF, you can send data as asynchronous messages from one service endpoint to another. A service endpoint can be part of a continuously available service hosted by IIS, or it can be a service hosted in an application. An endpoint can be a client of a service that requests data from a service endpoint. The messages can be as simple as a single character or word sent as XML, or as complex as a stream of binary data.

Web APIs

A server-side web API is a programmatic interface to a defined request-response message system, typically expressed in JSON or XML, which is exposed via the web—most commonly by means of an HTTP-based web server

Nice course, but could definitely be better organized and give focus on some areas or just remove them. The start is very difficult to follow, but then it becomes logical. If you enter this course you are expected to be already a while in the Software domain. Moreover i would like to get more theoretical material before coding with diagrams to get the WHY. The montage of the videos and visuals could definitely be better. And lastly but not least the order of some videos is not correct some times it feels like there is a piece missing in the video and then I do find it after a couple of videos, like the authorization and authentication videos and that the config of client is different from the service one. Anyways it is very good course if you put enough effort in it, thanks for this course !

Good Course. Little Slower. And voice sounds neutral all over the course. Straight to point no extra minutes of videos. Good humor was added to the course with meme's. Nice course to learn WCF. And last but not least The Intro and Outro was awesome part of the course. Thank You.

The course is very good overall. My only two remarks are that it is starting to show its age (its 2021 now and the course is from 2016 so that is somewhat expected in the technology world) and the pacing, which is inconsistent at times. Other than that, there is a lot of good information in it! Thank you!

Great content in breadth and depth. The examples given made sense and were easy to follow. The only thing that would enhance the course would be to have exercises for the students to go through and walk-through of the solution afterwards.

At the end of the Endpoints Implementation II, he should have provided a list a of the various steps he had to go through to get a working application. That would have been helpful for people when they come to develop a web service. In the two previous lectures, he was a little redundant, repeating the same information twice. His diagrams with cartoon characters were just plain goofy, and misleading because he used the same two characters for both the client and service. And the sequences with real people expressing confusion or disgust, or comprehension and contentment are absurd - an insult to one's intelligence. We are not little kids here! If not for these defects, I would have given 5 stars.

because the Methods werent accurate and optimal, in the method that get the max value you start the for loop with i=0 instead i=1 and in the get result method u passed arguments that u didnt use in the method imp. beyond that the material is passing on to the students in a very clear way, I have high expectations regarding right coding and bad habits elimination.

The course helped me to understand Web API, Mr Manzoor makes it simple and easy to follow videos. He knows the subject very well, the explanation is clear. Looking forward for more professional course from him in the near future. Thank you.

This is definitely a brilliant introduction to WCF and Web API. Having almost completed the course, i can say I have learnt a lot and now feeling confident in WCF and Web API which in the past i wasn't that confident in. I would have liked to see the instructor build a real application using Web API. That would have made me give a 5 star. Other than that i recommend this course to anyone trying to get their feet wet in WCF and Web API.

This was my first course on udemy which impressed me by the fact how it's easier to learn from it than from a book and much faster. This course is well structured and Manzoor has done excellent job to explain complex ideas in easy way.

It started out small; just a few videos which were clear and informative, but not very wide-ranging. I dipped in a toe, learnt what I could, and moved on. Now, several months later, the series has grown into a full-fledged course which will definitely benefit *anyone* with a serious interest in learning WCF. And the goodies just keep coming — Web APIs is now included! All I can say is, well done Mr Manzoor. Keep up the good work.
