Our take

Based on the ratings of 207 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in June 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

This is a project course. Nima Tahami has students build a travel booking app for web and mobile in Figma, starting with how to read a requirements document, then wireframes, a design system, mockups, a mobile version and prototypes. It runs about 7.2 hours across 99 lectures, and the longest stretch, the booking flow, is over two and a half hours. The audience list points at beginners and would-be freelancers, though the syllabus also suits a developer or a designer switching from Adobe XD.

Reviewers like the clear, follow-along style, and several mention picking up plugins, auto-layout logic and small tips they did not know. The rating is 4.4 from 207 reviews, with 113 five-star and 73 four-star. The complaints are consistent. Some say he clicks through the interface too fast, and one beginner needed 35 minutes for an 8 minute lesson. The bigger gripe is cost. Reviewers say the prototype section leans on features from Figma's paid plan, and some AI lessons need extra paid tools, which one free-plan student says the description never made clear.

It is a short course for the ground it covers, and it was updated in June 2026, so it covers the newer UI3 interface. Check your Figma plan first. On a paid plan, this looks like a solid first portfolio project. On the free plan, expect to skip or work around chunks of it. Complete beginners should keep the pause and rewind buttons handy, since the pace is brisk.

Best forBeginners who want to learn Figma by building one full travel booking app, and who can use a paid plan for the prototype and AI parts.
Skip it ifYou only use Figma's free plan, or you need slow, repeat-every-click hand holding.

Pros

  • One full travel booking app, from wireframes and design system through mobile and prototype
  • Reviewers pick up plugins, auto-layout logic and small tips even if they have used Figma before
  • Updated in June 2026 and covers the newer UI3 interface plus Figma's AI features
  • About 7 hours for 99 lectures, short enough to finish and reuse as a portfolio piece

Cons

  • The prototype section and some AI lessons need paid Figma or extra paid tools
  • Moves quickly through menu clicks, which trips up complete newcomers
  • No quizzes or exercises, so practice depends on building along with the project
Really clear and easy to follow course. The best benefit is that you get to do it yourself

Only issue I have so far is, when engaging the UI of Figma many of your selections are to quick to follow along with. So I have to pause and then rewind the video to see what portion of the UI was selected and how it was selected. Reminder, many of us are new to this App and the interface and in my case a slighter new version than what is being used in this class/video.

Really clear and easy to follow course. The best benefit is that you get to do it yourself - I didn't have enough time to finish my own prototype, but I can always come back to this. I've used Figma, but this was still a good course in terms of logic and especially making autolayouts. Thank you!

By Peter Vegvari on 8/18/2025

As a UI designer I decided to make a switch from Adobe XD to Figma and I was looking for a course to help me with that. This course was very helpful in understanding the basics of how Figma works and also I can see that someone just starting out in UI design could benefit from the lessons on wireframing and the general approach to a design project. Well done!

By Uchenna on 7/21/2025

It's great overall and taught the features well, but using the free version of Figma, I was not able to use some of the variant features. So I just had to follow along. Was this review helpful?

By Stefano Ferragina on 7/19/2025

He is a methodical and precise teacher. He never loses the thread of the discussion, which always follows a descriptive logic. He doesn't leave any questions unanswered.

By Jonathan Doyle on 6/13/2025

Requires additional pro accounts beyond figma to follow the course. The course is mostly watching someone use other tools, somebody elses designs and AI. Educational content is slim.

By Gowtham M on 6/7/2025

In this course, he covered almost everything. However, a significant drawback was the prototype section. There was no mention in the introduction or course description that this section included features only available in the paid version of Figma. The other sections also have some features that are only for the paid version of Figma (It can be done in an alternate way for non-paid users). Since the prototype part lasted nearly an hour (But It cannot be done in an alternate way for non-paid users), it felt irrelevant for those using the free version. I suggest adding an indication at least after this. Kudos to the one using the paid version.

By Ajiboye Emmanuel on 6/1/2025

It was a really valuable experience. The lessons were easy to follow, and I gained a solid understanding of user-centered design, wireframing, and prototyping. As someone still learning, it boosted my confidence and gave me the push I needed to start creating my own design projects.

By George Finnis on 5/5/2025

"As someone new to Figma, I found this course to be exactly what I was looking for. It's incredibly valuable and has provided me with a solid foundation. I’m excited to continue practicing and improving my skills. The future feels promising—thank you for such a well-structured and helpful course!"

By Noriaki Kojima on 3/22/2025

For full stack developer, I think the first 80% of this course is very useful for quick static page building. If you're a UI/UX designer, I think it's even better, as I think it does pretty much everything you want in most prototypes. However, I think the trend is we are moving more toward design -> code (AI) so once something like figma to v0 transition improves, such as handing off of logics like state, I think the last 20% would be more useful. Until then, for creating a clean responsive static design, spending 5 hours of the video here I thin is perfect.
