Mastering MapKit for iOS (Udemy.com)

Great course, this instructor delivered concise and very warm and learnable instructions and code when presenting their videos, i was able to write a lot of code that i can EASILY recycle into many new applications!!! :) I think this course could have be more organized in the sense of separating course content into functions. a lot of it was done by implementing a function and deleting it, and rewriting the function to provide different implementation. i had to spend time outside of class seperating functions to be reusable.

This course was an amazing introduction to MapKit. I learned so much and am excited to expand on what I've learned. The code and lectures are easy to understand yet provide very powerful information. I only experienced one small issue with the code throughout the entire course. Mohammad Azam is a great instructor and is very responsive in the Q&A.

The instructor explains everything so clear and covers the most relevant features of MapKit. It was a great course, I feel satisfied with what I've learn, and ready to put those learnings in practice in the short term.

Overall the course covered many of the fundamental MapKit concepts. The instructor explains things very well. My one wish would be that it went into other, more advanced mapkit stuff.

When something doesn’t work, instructor seems to be trouble shooting on the spot. Looks like a YouTube training. Otherwise, he shows good knowledge and expertise.

This is an awesome course. This is a must buy course if you want to learn about MapKit. I feel confident to implement what I just learn in my app. Thanks and great job!

Overall, this is a good course for anyone looking to understand MapKit. If you are new to MapKit, I definitely recommend this course because it does touch many features of MapKit. If you are familiar with MapKit already, I would not recommend this course. The instruction is, for the most part (see point 1 below), clear and easy to follow. I went with a 4-star rating because the Mr. Azzam provides good instruction on MapKit and provides several different use cases for MapKit. While the course is good, there is room for improvement. Specifically, 1. the title is misleading. This course should not be named "Mastering MapKit" but "An Introduction to MapKit" because you definitely will not master MapKit from this course. Most of the instruction focuses on hard-coded parameters. This is in no way ideal for most every application. Most developers are going to want flexibility for users of their application to provide user desired inputs. Successful apps satisfy user experience and the techniques shown in this course would not provide solid user experience. 2. To enhance user experience, integrating features such as long press and user input text fields to save places of interest as permanent storage in a tableview would move this course much closer to the "mastering" side of things. 3. The videos are out of order. Lectures jump from using one base application to another (different storyboards) but that is not always clear in the beginning. At times I found myself working in the wrong app shell. Yes, resources are available but consistently using the shell reduces the value of the learning and reduces mastery. Points 1 - 3 are not meant to be negative but constructive. As noted, this is a good course and I do highly recommend it to beginners because the Mr. Azzam covers a lot of ground specifically related to MapKit and in a manner that is easy to follow. For beginners, you will definitely walk away with a good foundation to build on.

I fully recommend this course to anybody who is learning Swift and wants to learn more about the mapKit framework. The instructor is superb and is very experienced. This course is ideal for beginners, intermediate and even experienced iOS developers. There is something new to learn for everybody about mapKit. I rate this course 10 out of 10. Mohammad Azam is a world class teacher and it was a pleasure following his lessons.
