I recommend this class because the lecturer gives clear and concise examples. He is also very knowledgable about JavaScript. So if you are a beginner look to learn more about Regular Expressions, here is a perfect place to start. Or if you are already familiar with this concept and want to brushing up your skills, again here is the place to do that.

For some regex topics, I needed a few times to watch some videos, but in the end, I captured the idea. The best thing could be to apply gained knowledge immediately after watching the video and to have a bunch of cases to see the power of regex. I liked the instructor's teaching style, and I can confirm that students can learn a lot about the practical use of regex in this course, but still, for some topics would be nice to have more examples.

another amazing course from Steven! its incredible how he can simplify the concepts so they are easy to understand and apply. his methods of teaching I didn't find anywhere else. he takes you back to the root of the issue, and explain the whys and why nots. something that I rarely find in other resources. the last section was very practical and crucial to see how to apply those concepts in real projects. this is the third course I take from the JavaScript series, and I cant wait to dive in the fourth one!

Very useful course to learn about Regex in general and about JavaScript Regex in more detail. I think that the course could benefit from some more challenging exercises in the last section (or in each section as well), as I think that a real mastery only comes when you need to face and solve (or try ay least) some more complex problems. Also, maybe some alternative and powerful testing regex environements (other than Regex Pal) could be at least mentioned, if not used, as they are - in my opinion - more complete, updated and features-packed than Regex Pal. Anyway, a course that was widely worth to enroll to. Thanks Steven :)

This course taught me a lot about regular expressions, which is an important topic that I've neglected up until now in my JavaScript education. To be honest, the topic is pretty boring, but that isn't the course's or the instructor's fault. The instructor speaks very slowly and the videos can be comfortably viewed at 1.5x speed while still sounding normal.

I have soon finished the course and feel like I have seen enough to give my impression of the course and the teacher. Note that this is just my opinion and some may disagree with my statements. The course keeps a good pacing in what it covers and holds a very structured order on the new concepts it tackles. The question modules/assignments are relevant and feels like they fit with the section materials. The exercises are somewhat short, but we are not here to be tested on our Javascript skills but regexp which is a fairly small area. Do not enter this course thinking you will learn anything new about Javascript, it is in general not the best practices being used by the instructor (using let instead of const when not reassigning value to variables etc..), but then again the focus here is regexp, not Javascript. The instructor speaks veeeerry slow and I advise you to watch at 1.5x at the very least. Overall a solid course if you want to know more about regexp for work or hobby reasons. Don't expect the course to deliver all the hours of content it says, you can slice that down a fair bit due to the spoken speed of the instructor.

I'm primarily looking into how a regular expressions can be created from scratch for use in VBA/Python. Being that I have a background in full-stack web development, learning in Javascript is acceptable as the overall goal is the pattern recognition aspect of RegEx.

I had worked with regexes, but did not fully understand everything I was using. Having this as a formal course really helped clear up confusion and solidify how regexes work at a deeper level. This course will add a powerful tool to your toolbox!
