Course Description
Microsoft Planner is a project management application developed by Microsoft that allows teams to create, assign, and organize work visually. With this web-based application, companies can better facilitate teamwork, as well as improve progress visibility and coordination. This course is designed to teach students the basics of Planner and help them gain familiarity with both the benefits and functionality of the application.
Students will learn to create a new plan, use boards and buckets, work with members and tasks, and manage notifications. They will discover how to change views to better suit their workflow needs, ensuring that they can keep track of their projects more efficiently. Exporting data to Excel is another key feature covered in the course, which allows users to sort, filter, report on, and share their plans with people who aren't members of the plan. This can be particularly useful for generating reports and sharing progress updates with stakeholders.
Additionally, the course will cover how to integrate Planner with other Microsoft applications. The course will also explain how to create a calendar feed to add key plan dates to Outlook Calendar, ensuring that all team members stay updated as the plan progresses. In summary, this course provides a comprehensive overview of Microsoft Planner, equipping students with the skills needed to effectively manage and coordinate their projects.

This course provides a very clear explanation of Microsoft Planner. How to use and the benefits to be obtained, explained very clearly. I feel I have benefited from this course. Good work.

I had some previous knowledge and using planner within Teams so not all of the features talked about are available. Worth it to find out about promoting a checklist item and labeling tasks to colour code!

Being new to Planner this course gave me all the information I needed to become a confident user to set tasks for our team goals. The instruction was clear and concise and introduced me to other features I was unaware of. Great course for the beginner.

Would love to know more about being able to use the functions in the ellipse such as copy plan - can we copy the plan to another group? Does this link the two together? Or keep the tasks separate in each group? I have the same tasks for multiple groups on different projects. More indepth on Notebook etc would have been great.

Great course if you're new to Planner and know little to nothing about the application. It's a fairly straightforward app, but this course has some nice tips and tricks and gives you a good idea of how you can implement/use within your own team/organization.

Very basic stuff, however as such sufficient. As in any of these courses it would be nice when there is some explanation of why certain functionality is there, which business issue is solved by it.

This was a thorough introductory course on Planner. I hope the training team works on an Advanced course for one or more purposes below - Fully show a plan being used in mock real-time - Tips to use certain features more efficiently - How to integrate other MS apps like Teams into Planner as best practices.

I was able to start from not having any experience with planner previous to the course, to building plans and meeting my goals almost right away at a basic. Know I am quite comfortable in going forward and expanding my capabilities through working with the app. The trainer is excellent prefect presentation, detail speed of training just excellent. Bruce

It was great to see Planner in action and I have a good grasp on the features and how to use it now. I found the instructor continually referring to the other videos annoying; just mentioning another related video once would've given me the message. I would prefer to get more on what we're seeing in this video. The course was brief, which was good, but other points could've been expanded on; Groups - I got that Planner creates a group and a group creates a Planner but how does this look and how can it be used in SP, Outlook, etc. Guest Member - more on how this works would be helpful. Can external guests they actually access the Planner? Can I have an external guest but not actually invite them so we can see what their part/tasks are? Can there be Internal Guests, so people within the organisation that can see but can't modify anything? Sharepoint - does Planner create a team page? More advice on the interaction between the two would be great. Files & OneDrive - does adding a file add it to MY OneDrive or a shared OneDrive? When I upload a file, where can I then access it from and where can other members access it from? How about if I'm linking to an on premise Sharepoint file? Notebook - more info on this would be great as all those tabs are confusing. Is the Notebook shared automatically? Is the Notebook specific to this Planner or this Group or both? Tasks - is there any relation between Planner Tasks and Sharepoint Tasks or are they one and the same now? Thanks

This is an excellent course. Office 365 Planner is a valuable tool withinn the Office 365 pakage. It is, almost, a shorthand of MS Project. Needless to say, Planner is easier to learn than MS Project. The instructor is experienced, energetic and to the point.
