Music Theory and Reading Music - The Beginners Guide! (Udemy.com)

I've never really prioritized music theory, but I've come to realize how important it is to at least learn the fundamentals. This course was a great way to ease me into the subject, and it's one I still go back to from time to time to refresh my understanding. The lessons were easy to follow, but I also took some time to slow down and really absorb the material. There were plenty of moments where I paused the videos to think through what I'd just learned or sat down at a keyboard to test the concepts for myself and make sure everything was clicking. Overall, it gave me a much stronger foundation and made music theory feel far less intimidating than I expected.

It wasn't until I bought the course and started to quickly look at, and skip, what I already knew that I found that the course was not for me. When I attempted to get a refund in the form of credits, I was given a message saying that I had completed too much of the course. A note to all who would buy a Udemy course: Do not tick or complete any lecture until you are certain that the course meets your needs.

Really enjoyable course with good explanations of the various concepts in theory I've struggled with before. I will be heading back to this content over again to help reaffirm my understanding.

Good beginner guide for music theory. The guy is an expert so some section of his lessons go far above beginner level which can be confusing. But you do get a decent foundation.

the lessons on chords are amazing, i find it very useful and intuitive. Many books use too words to explain something which can be summarize in very few minutes!

I left this rating because the tutor can give a very comprehensible explanation and support it with examples which are so supportive for newbies to music theory. I also appreciate his recommendations which he gives after some lessons. Nice job! :)

I want to start producing my own music but I'd like to have the knowledge of music theory to help me understand the music process more instead of just putting sounds together and hoping they work

Clear well presented and organised course. Engaging tutors. Step by step instructions with clear visual and audio explanations and demonstrations. Really enjoying the course.

I hadn't known anything of music theory until I took this course and I must say it's pretty understandable, it helps you realize why some decisions were made when certain songs were composed. If your are about to dive deeper into the music world, to either understand it or to make up your first attempts of melodies, it is a good choice to absolute beginners.

Halfway through the course and I’ve got to say it never ceases to get me excited towards learning something new. The instructors really make sure that you’re set on learning tricks and techniques that solidify your knowledge on Music theory. I’m really glad I purchased this course and I'm honestly glad that I was under the tutelage of this course from both Tomas George and Jeremy Deighan.
