A few mistakes and issues along the way but a good introduction into substance painter

By Evren Halavut on 10/18/2020

Excellent course for me as an absolute beginner. Instructor is very knowledgeable and easy to understand; and goes over the topics in a very concise manner. This is an excellent course if you are a beginner in texturing.

The main thing that bothers me about the course is that the videos showing panels with dropdowns and the like are extremely small. In other courses I have taken the instructors use some type of software to enlarge the areas that they are discussing making it easy to see.
I also believe the explanations could be more in depth. I'm not an artist at all but interested in Blender and Substance Painter and I am doing what I am instructed to do but in a lot of cases I don't understand why.

I love un-destructive texturing workflow. Before i take this lessons. I usually using destructive workflows. Thank you so much!

Seems good...so far. I'm glad the instructor keeps to the point and doesn't keep waving his mouse cursor about all over the screen. There are one or two fundamental issues he hasn't covered yet, like what format to save your models in and where do the UV maps come from...ie, does Substance automatically create them or does one create them in your original 3D app- obviously I will work this out for myself

By Mabruk Rashid Khan on 9/6/2020

Clear, concise and straight to the point and I feel it is for complete beginners. Only suggestion (and I don't think Instructor should need to implement) I could add I suppose is basically going over the absolute basics of Texture maps and the terms used (which I Youtube'ed so I was okay - something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOHNRlrd1Ak&list=PLBX-X8mPyxIpM3dszDoS2V5KQ_cdqGsGa )

Loved this all the way through, Sean has a great teaching demeanour and makes a difficult program seem manageable and fun! Nice one sean!

It's a good workflow, easy to understand and will get you started making some cool looking textures quickly. I would follow this up with something more advanced, that shows how to work with a larger variety of materials.

It was excellent. It helped me a lot with my current Substance Painter workflow and how to approach different projects. 100% recommended. Now I'm looking forward to take volume 2 after working more with my new knowledge.
