Our take
Based on the ratings of 61 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in November 2022. No course pays to be reviewed.
Stefan Jovanovic teaches Figma through one long build. The course runs 12.7 hours over 96 lectures. The first half covers the interface, images, text, layout tools, styles, components and collaboration. Then comes a Tic-Tac-Toe mobile app design, about five hours of the total, followed by a prototyping section with animations. The audience list leans toward Android and iOS developers who want to mock up an app before coding, and the instructor is a developer and designer himself. It is a small course, with 459 students, last updated in November 2022.
Reviewers give it 4.6 from 61 ratings, and 43 of those are five stars. Praise goes to the detail and the pacing. One reviewer calls it well taught and well paced, and an Android developer with no design background says he learned a great deal. The complaints are about following along live. Two reviewers say the instructor changes his mind mid-lesson, says one thing and clicks another, or reels off shortcut combinations too fast, which means a lot of rewinding. Others asked for FigJam basics and graphic principles.
Because the last update was in late 2022, Figma's menus may differ in places. The format is watch and copy, with no quizzes or coding exercises and one short homework lecture. That suits people who learn by building. We would recommend it to developers who want a practical route into mobile UI design, and we would pass if you want design theory first, or a course refreshed this year.
Pros
- One long Tic-Tac-Toe project, 31 lectures and about five hours, builds a full app design
- Goes past drawing shapes into variants, styles and reusable components
- Ends with a prototyping section that adds interactive animations across the screens
- Reviewers call the pacing good and the detail deep, even for non-designers
Cons
- Instructor sometimes changes course mid-lesson or rattles off shortcuts, forcing rewinds
- Last updated November 2022, so Figma's interface may look different now
- No quizzes or exercises, and reviewers wanted FigJam and graphic principles added

Course Description
Welcome to my course. This course will be all about the Figma. Figma is one of the most complete, collaborative and community-driven design softwares out there. With Figma you can do all different sorts of things, from UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Wireframing, Brainstorming to Prototyping and Creating your own Design Systems, all of that, in an easy and collaborative way with other people.
To be honest, this course has a lot to offer. We are going to start by introducing with some of most important features in Figma. Then after that I'm going to show you in practice how to work with all of the tools that are available in Figma. How to apply them in a real-world projects.
And only after that, after you're comfortable enough, then we are going to start working on our own project design from scratch. That project will be a Mobile application, or a game, called Tic-Tac-Toe.
That project will have around 70-80 different screen designs, including a design for both light and a dark theme. You will learn how to make your own Design System, how to create unique and reusable custom UI components, and more.
After we complete all of that, at the end, like a cherry on top of the cake, we are going to create a real prototype application out of that same design. You will learn how to give a life to your design, by creating an interactive animations. We are going to build a real application flow, for all those 80 different screens.
I could go on with this a lot more, but why waste your time. Enroll in this course and let's get started!

For me, an Android developer that have never studied how to design an app screen (just did it directly in Android Studio), this course was amazing, I learned so much! The course is very informative, has so much details and conveys in-depth knowledge on the subject. The only downside in when i am trying to replicate realtime what is being done in the lessons in my Figma. There are several moments when one action is done during the class and then the teacher changes his mind, making me redo some things. Another case is between classes, that always some changes are made, be the organization of some screens or be the labeling of the components, which aren't shown or at least cited in the following class, but I can see while studying that some changes were made. Aside from that, the course is outdated. Figma changed its UI, but you can go back to the old layout to follow the classes more easily.

This was a very good course. Figma is a fairly intuitive editor, but it is still nice to have someone quickly demonstrate the more advanced features. The amount of material here is staggering; an impressive job creating this course and teaching this. There are very few mistakes. It was somewhat frustrating working on my own Figma project as the instructor shows us what to do. Too often he says one thing and clicks another, or says "SHIFT or CONTROL or SHIFT ALT or SHIFT CONTROL G" too quickly to parse --- forcing excess rewinding and replaying when my Figma is not working. It doesn't really matter, but it is a little irritating to say "pick Dark Gray" then actually click on "Darker Gray" since that messes up the UI later. Referring to everything by the keyboard shortcuts was not so helpful to me, since "Frame the Selection" is more instructional than "press Ctrl-Alt-G" when we are learning. The pace of talking was a little too fast at some times too. Overall though, these are not significant points and I highly recommend this for learning Figma.
