Our take
Based on the ratings of 6,404 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in September 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
Andy Edwards's course is a 99-minute introduction to psychometrics, built around a simple colour model drawn from Jungian psychology. It runs across 28 lectures in seven short sections, covering self-awareness, perception versus reality, and how to adapt your style to different personalities. The audience list points to people who deal with customers, suppliers or colleagues every day. No background is needed, and students also get a free mini profile of their own '8 Type'.
Reviewers like how simply it breaks psychology down. The words that keep coming up are concise, practical, well-structured and energetic, and Edwards's delivery gets praise for its enthusiasm. A few say they will need to revisit the material and practise it before it sticks. The critical reviews are fair. One says the information is brief with very few examples, and another felt it amounts to old-fashioned consideration for others and disagreed with the closing take on the Golden Rule. Still, 5,592 of the 6,404 ratings are four or five stars.
The course was last updated in September 2025, and the subject does not date quickly. It is short and paid, so think of it as a low-commitment starter rather than a full training programme. If the aim is a handy framework to try in real conversations at work, it is a sensible pick. If the aim is depth or a qualification, look elsewhere.
Pros
- Seven short sections of 2 to 7 lectures each and 99 minutes in total make it easy to fit in
- Reviewers call it concise and practical, useful in work and personal conversations
- Simple colour model based on Jungian psychology, and one reviewer calls the content easy to understand
- Includes a free mini profile that tells students their own '8 Type'
Cons
- At 99 minutes, one reviewer found it brief with very few examples to absorb
- Light on depth: it is not an academic psychology course, and the audience notes say so
- Learning sticks only with practice, and a few reviewers say they must revisit the material

Course Description
People Skills - How People Tick & How To Read Them Instantly
The success or otherwise of any interaction in life comes down to your people skills. If you can understand what a person is thinking and feeling, then you can help them feel relaxed, welcome, and ultimately trust you.
So, if you are around people whether at work, socially – or even in your family, then this is the course for you.
Andy Edwards is an international speaker and widely published author, who's been teaching business and relationship skills for more than 25 years. He's spoken to audiences all over the world (in person and online) and has an entertaining, practical teaching style. This course is guaranteed to keep you engaged, fascinated – and even amused, and will teach you life-changing skills to transform your business and personal life.
The course covers self-awareness:
why you behave in the way you do
how relationships develop
what to look out for when you first meet someone.
We also take a look at what psychometrics are based on:
the underpinning psychology
why perception isn’t reality
good day vs bad day behaviours
We move on to how you can read and understand others by checking just three elements of their behaviour:
body language
tone of voice
vocal patterns and words used
You will also learn how we can use psychometrics to:
adapt our behaviour to any situation
connect with others by learning and keeping in mind their ‘Motto’
communicate with and influence others like never before
By the end of the course…
… you will be able to anticipate others’ decision-making processes, their likely responses to your questions – their wants, their needs, their motivations, and their preferences.
You will know how to consciously adapt your behaviour and your own communication style to suit that interaction. The other person will walk away from a meeting you with an unconscious (or perhaps even conscious) sense of connection with you...
· “What a nice guy.”
· “She’s having a good day today!”
· “She seems a trustworthy person.”
· “He made me feel really comfortable.”
· “It seems like I have known them for years!”
If it’s better business results that you’re after, then psychometrics could be your route to success. Why? Well, we all know that people buy people; so, when it comes to the true currency of a business, ‘Relationships’ not ‘Money’ takes precedence. In which case, it makes sense to help people get to know you, like you and trust you. With psychometrics, this becomes a simple – yet incredibly powerful process.
If you like the idea of finding out more about yourself and others… and you want to know a few answers to the question: “What makes people tick…?” Then let’s get started as soon as possible.

This course has been highly beneficial both personally and professionally. It provided valuable knowledge and practical insights that can be applied in real-life situations as well as in the workplace. The content was informative, well-structured, and easy to understand.

Great practical ways to have the right starting position to visualize behavior pattern and taking the necessary precautions to ensure not losing the person from the start of engagement. Do watch out not to box people in subconsciously and adapt as the interaction progress!

Carl jung, color profiling to determine the most dominant color in people, explained in a brief and accurate way. It definitely helps in work settings, where in we need to reach out to people and building rapport with people. To determine the dominant color type , we need to have 2 or 3 meetings with them and then adjust ourselves accordingly in our future conversations.

What an amazing course! I have never been introduced to psychometrics, so this was a first for me. Loved the color type methodology, though I did find the 8-type a bit overwhelming. I spent a good amount of time reviewing that and thinking it through, way more than I probably should have. And I'll probably review it again! I placed myself square in the "Creator" type, which is actually pretty amazing to me. Tons of great information, and I plan to revisit the exercises several times going forward. Loved the course Andy, even the bloopers at the end!! Cheers!

This course is simply amazing and entertaining too ! Very informative and really as much as possible, we can this can definitely try our best to use these tactics in our practical life to know any person/individual style by his typical behavior/color style so that we can make more new friends every day! Thank you !

This was a really great course and I learnt so much about myself and my work colleagues. I am colour yellow and my line manager is blue. I though she just hates me but now i know better. I will use these Jedi Minds tricks to win her over lol. Once a gain, great course and thank you!!!

I enjoyed the course very much. the content was great and the instructor did a great job with material. Video presentation could use some work in my opinion. I just needed a little more visual stimulation with either background or some use of videos/photos/diagrams to illustrate points. I appreciate the test and materials. there was some problem with fuzzy picture at times and #37 ended abruptly. I feel like I missed something at the end of that part.

So far it looks to me like Mr. Edwards describes old fashioned consideration for others rather than APA I disagree with his last video about the Golden Rule and how all the religious writings got it wrong.

The course is pretty good, but the concept that reality is different for each person is ridiculous. People all perceive reality differently, but reality doesn't change by our perception. This concept that reality or truth changing depending on who is experiencing it is just another thing taught in modern society to convince people of their importance instead of understanding that truth is truth, lies are lies, reality is reality, and none of these items change because enough people agree that they do. When you become an adult, if you were raised in the "modern" school system, you suddenly find that there are no worthwhile participation trophies. You have to work for the good things unless you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth, or you depend on someone else to make you successful.

The course was very useful, but there is no sandbox for practicing the skills learned. I have try it in real life and hope that I get it right. Some sort of interactive game or social group where students could practice on each other would be much better. (Turning learning into a competitive game produces better results for most people, because it gets their builds their cognitive recognition and form habits from continual repetition.)
