Course Description

With Moho, you can import images or Photoshop Documents, add bones and create detailed rigs for 2D animation. This process can be different from rigging vector based characters. This course showcases all the important steps needed to effectively rig a PSD for Moho animation.

More specifically, you will learn how to:

  • Set up layer structure for a character

  • Reduce PSD file size

  • Set up body bones appropriately

  • Create dynamic hair movement using Smart Warp meshes and special bone properties

  • Control the face using a series of dials

  • Create head turns using a Smart Warp mesh

  • Polish and correct rigging issues

  • Apply animation with an image based rig

  • Export animations out of Moho

It's a good intro to moho, the rig, model and animation is all a little janky, but it's a 3 hr course and get's one started

Hi Chad. I really loved this course as I also love drawing in Procreate. One thing I noticed was that the focus did not become clear at varying times in the courses. I started with just a few seconds in to progress towards the end for almost the whole of some courses. However I am familiar enough with Moho to have been able to follow along.

Amazing course! I had some basic knowledge of working in Moho with vector graphics and this course helped me a lot. The explanations are very clear. It is easy to apply everything I've learned, I don't have "black spots" in understanding how to animate PSD in Moho after this course. Thank you very much :)

Another excellent Moho course from Chad. I feel far more comfortable with the complexities of rigging dials and handling subtle movements after this in-depth course. I suggest you follow along with the instructor, rather than just watching. I learned so much more as I made mistakes and corrected them.

I wanted to use Moho for a very specific purpose: rigging raster images (PSDs) and animating with bones. I'm part of the way through this course and it's going very well! Nice well thought out source files and great walk throughs. I know a lot of work went into making this tutorial but it flows well, very well done!

I wasn't sure if I would learn anything new, but alas I saw something that I haven't tried with the mesh rigging everything including vector point. I thought Mesh can only be applied to photoshop layers. Otherwise its everything you need to rig a photoshop type character.
