Course Description
This course is designed to teach students an overview of end-user SharePoint interface and functionality. Students will begin with an overview of Sharepoint including how to navigate and how to locate sites, libraries and lists. Students will also learn how to work with document libraries. They will learn how to work with document library settings, how to check a document in and out, and how to set alerts. They will also learn how to work with SharePoint lists, including calendar lists, contact lists, and task lists, as well as how to work with list settings. This course also covers how to enhance the SharePoint experience, how to work with various views, update personal profiles, use the Newsfeed, and learn about SharePoint integration with other Microsoft Office products.

The instructor is a very lively individual, and getting to see them visibly explain it on the screen with hand signals makes the course much more interactive and engaging. This is preferable to some of the videos I've attempted to watch, where the instructor will often not show their face and be talking in a bland manner.

I have a slightly newer version of SharePoint. As a result, the interface looks different and some of the buttons or features are missing or in different locations. The instructor explains that SharePoint is always being updated and features could appear at any time.

The course was an excellent overview of SharePoint. It was very detailed and well explained. I got a little lost in all the segments on "Views" which I was wondering if some of those should be switched to "intermediate" versus beginner. Thanks and I look forward to SharePoint for Site Owners! Kim

This course was my first introduction to SharePoint and I found it helpful to get a basic understanding and overview of the features offered by SharePoint. When it comes to training, I think that the instructor is great at explaining the topics of the course and understands SharePoint very well. The only thing I would change is the removal of the repetitive mention of the three locations you can access the menu for editing a list or document item. These seemed to take up more time as he went through them in their entirety every time there was a chance to mention them.
