Sketching for Animators Who Can’t Draw (Udemy.com)

This is an AMAZING course! I love it! But maybe it's a little bit hard to people who don't have spatial notion. That's because the teacher go to one level to another a bit fast, so if you have no spatial notion maybe you can get lost when he starts to talk about perspective or 3D shapes. But the course it's amazing and is really worth it.

I am learning a lot from this course. Some really great instruction that assists me in drawing the things the instructor has drawn and having success at it. I will be doing the exercises several times for practice. Thanks for your class !!!

I just finished the course. It offers rudimentary skills and encourages a lot of skills that seem obvious but artists don't feel are correct to do. The important thing this course drills into you is to do these exercises consistently and make sure they are enjoyable. It's not a course to sharpen your skills or to be the best out of the gate, it is more about allowing beginners to be beginners.

Pretty fun course. The instructor is clear and fun to listen to. I would've liked a few more exercises with an example. But it covered some good basic skills. I always skip the sketching part and go straight into illustrator to work on a finished object. I want to add a better story boarding and concepting fase to my workflow and I feel this course gave me some good pointers on how to do that.

I learned most of that way back in the days. This was a greatly compressed recap that I could actually follow while drawing in hand. Some parts were detailed enough, but in some cases it only shows how a pro does it, but with no hints how to replicate. Most of the time though, it is an awesome start you can then exercise further.

I think this course would be great for those who have no background in drawing and want to start. As I do have some background in illustration, it feels too basic. I interpreted the title to mean there would a focus on drawing 'for animation' which I have no experience in. If the title doesn't specify anything about animators, I'd say this was perfect for an absolute beginner who wants to get into sketching.

Working on Photoshop is another thing. The orientation was a bit short of making the client aware of the importance of the drawing tools in animation. Yes, drawing a hundred times will benefit the budding artist. But obviously one has to go another hundred drawings -because art is a lifetime practice. Generally the course is worth spending some hours watching. Please be aware of "okay?", "alright?", and "very, very..." in your dialogue. It is quiet distracting (me, and I hope it's only me). Generally, the course is good.

As a refresher course or someone starting out, this course is ideal to learn or brush up on key fundamentals and get started quick. Then you can move onto more advanced courses is the specific areas of drawing you want to focus on. I found the drawing characters and hand in 3D very useful, plus the posing in 2D. I did think more on character design could be covered, however thinking about it, what is covered fulfils the course aims/brief.

interesting quick overview on some of sketching technics, good for fresh look on your own style. I'm watch this on 2x, it's quite good on this speed when you work on design by years and on advance level of skills. 100% Good course.

What a great course! I am not an animator but I found this very helpful in understanding and improving my sketching as well as creating characters. I found the the parts about understanding 3D specially helpful. The instructor is a great teacher, knowledgable and friendly. I want to take more courses like this.
