Songwriting 101- Composition, Lyrics + Music Production (Udemy.com)

Covered a lot of good information, but not having universal stems really took away from key elements of the course, especially in the production section. The lectures/practical application portions in songwriting could focus more on smaller exercises that challenge students in each skillset. Not a lot of value watching a song being written multiple times.

I have actually grasped a better understanding of how Melody actually works. I essentially understood the pieces individually but I always struggled to bring the parts together to make a cohesive element. I really wish to thank you guys for this master class. I am glad we are tackling ALL manner of aspects and not just one tiny bit. I would like a cool perspective of how to take these elements and apply them into a more Cinematic aspect such as Movie and Game soundtracks as that is where I find most of my interest in. I really love telling stories and this would be a great asset to conveying those stories. Thanks so much guys. This is truly awesome.

An excellent course for me that felt like I was in a inspirationless hole that I couldn't go out of because I had a lot of doubts in my mind about my songwriting not being appropiately done, or not as good as other songs I like and take as inspiration, or being similar to these songs and feeling guilty or even dirty about it, you guys helped me a lot! Just as a small suggestion, I think I would like better to have Rock, Pop, EDM and Blues instead of Country as the genres to be studied, but I guess it is based on what is being the sensation there. In general, a seemless course, very clear and with a couple of cool and clever instructors. Thank you!

this course is pretty great! extremely extensive and gives amazing and valuable tips, goes into details and gives a lot of motivation. I think the only downside is that it can get pretty repetitive, especially in the songwriting part, and if you have experience, the "Fly on the wall" part is kind of useless. nevertheless, it's a great starter course, and even if you have experience, this is an incredible purchase, filled with great value and tips. i'd totally recommend!

I used to write music as a teen and found I had a pretty good knack for it, but just couldn't find direction where to start again as an adult. This class was really helpful in getting my head back into the game and also answered a lot of my burning questions about composition and arrangement that were holding me back! Loved the teaching style - Peter has a great way of explaining things and had me cracking up, and I always appreciate Tomas' technical expertise. Thanks guys!

t like the way the teacher goes over and over w/ examples to so I can grasp what he's saying and that he doesn't move on so quickly that I have to play the concepts he's showing me over and over

Good explanations for everything

I paid a discounted price for this course and was only really interested in the pop and EDM sections. Overall, I found the course very enlightening, even though I had knowledge of most of what it entailed. Confirmation that you are doing something right is always good :). There were some really good ideas about finding ways to generate chords/chord progressions for your songs. I particularly liked the ideas on brainstorming for lyrical ideas using the internet. I did find 'Section 12: Creating a Song From Scratch . . .' a tad tedious, but it was real and showed exactly what happens when writing a new song and/or trying to develop an idea. Peter did an excellent job. The only downside for me was the lack of interactivity but for £10, I really shouldn't complain.

If getting better insight and a grasp for what is surface level or meets the eye instantaneously with in hearing the words songwriting or the music industry and what an art form of appreciation truly spectates, having that ability to hear the truth and really feel inspired to delve even deeper as to what you thought you knew; this course really does all of that and more. Worth every damn near nine hours the entirety of this content spoken in its entirety this provides for those thirsting for new knowledge & passion-for-music seekers out there. Not to mention studying and notetaking especially when it is under the umbrella of what brings people together within the topic of such, is a great stress reliever and escape from every day stressors life may entail.
