My background spans the disciplines of drawing, painting, filmmaking and animation. I studied Film in Dublin, and spent a semester on a scholarship at the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU in New York. I later studied drawing and animation. Since 2005, I have worked in studios in Vancouver and Dublin as a professional Background Designer and Environment Artist. I've also worked as a storyboard artist, concept artist, and I have directed a number of short animated films.
All in all, I've worked for over 15 years as an Artist, Illustrator and Animation Professional. I've provided artwork for studios whose clients include Disney UK, Sony Pictures Animation, HMH Publishing, to name a few.
I also have an ongoing painting and drawing practice, and I paint portraits on commission, and exhibit my work in galleries. My passion is to teach others the whole spectrum of art skills that I've learned and developed over the course of my career.

While I really enjoy Sibbohan's teaching, examples, simple explanations, and final work I felt this course was too 'beginner' for me - I completed her "Learn to Storyboard for Film or Animation" course first which I liked better though this one is higher rated. I was under the impression this was the next course but perhaps I am wrong, I cannot find a publishing date. There was a lot of lecturing on basic topics in this one which often felt disconnected from the superb examples. I think I preferred the "Learn to Storyboard for Film or Animation" course because there was a lot of process video that helped make the lecturing *click* for me. Overall not bad, just not what I expected.

I really enjoyed that this was a short course, but it covered the most important aspects of storyboarding. Most courses on film would have covered 7 different types of cuts, but would have gotten people lost in how to use them. This course gave a more top level view and explained how to do cuts in general.

Amazing course again. I am a photographer, not a storyboard artist, and I am surprised to see lots of common languages between them. I even wonder, would storyboard artist outperform (or said override) cinema photographer in the visual presentation. I take her courses because I want to know more about screen play scripts. I strongly recommend the courses.

The teacher is excellent! No shadow falls on her. I could not find the script to download, and I never got feedback from any other students on the first two assignments so I didn't bother on the remaining two.

I have learned so much to be able to improve my animation projects. I have Siobhan's whole series. It has been very helpful to go from storyboarding to backgrounds to animation principals to animating a character. These courses build on each other so you can start with your thumb nail ideas and end with your background and animated character.

I am non English speaker I can read and write English but I am not good at speaking and listening. the best thing about the instructor is her way of speaking neither so fast nor too slow, so it’s easy for me to understand what she is saying. I love her voice it’s calm and soothing. secondly course is well designed and well structured so it’s easy for me to understand and follow the instructions. Thank you so much for your hard work in creating this course for us.

I'm really impressed with the depth that this course offers. As someone new to storyboarding, I'm getting some expert tips that clearly took years of experience to collect. I've done some research by asking a lot of professionals about what makes good storyboards, and this course does a strong job of surfacing those aspects in an accessible format, that's easy to consume (not too wordy or verbose).

I adored the course, it really helped me grow as an artist and storyboarder! The teacher gives very helpful and insightful feedback, and the video classes are very easy to follow. ! I recommend it to anyone who already has a basic knowledge on storyboarding and wants to perfect this skill. Thanks for everything!

Yes it was a good match. I have been meddling with animation for a bit and started working on a project with friends. Your course helped me to understand some of the procedures. Your course was consistent visually, concise and professional. I enjoyed seeing you on screen and sharing our expertise with us. Thank you.

I took the first course offered by Siobhan and that one really set you up, so I wanted to continue further. So far I feel like I'm already learning new things without feeling overwhelmed. I love that Siobhan offers input, and also further challenges you to really think on your own. I definitely learned a lot!
