Our take
Based on the ratings of 32,949 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in May 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short, practical negotiation course aimed at everyday situations: buying a car, asking for a pay rise, haggling at a flea market. It runs about 2.3 hours across 44 lectures with six quizzes, and follows a simple sequence: deciding to negotiate, planning, opening offers, tactics, trading and closing. Chris Croft, a UK trainer, teaches mostly through stories rather than theory, and reviewers keep coming back to that. With more than 107,000 students and 32,949 reviews at 4.6, it is a well-tested starter, not a deep specialist program.
The praise is consistent. Reviewers call it easy to listen to, entertaining and simple to put into practice, and several single out the storytelling. The ratings back that up, with 18,076 five-star ratings against 171 one-star. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found it basic and wanted industrial examples. Another expected general negotiation skills and felt it was mostly about bargaining. A sales professional found the examples unrelatable to SaaS solution selling. A Portuguese speaker asked for future courses in Portuguese rather than English with subtitles.
At two hours it asks very little of anyone, and most sections run around 20 minutes or less. It was last updated in May 2025, and there is a bonus section of newer content. Think of it as a friendly first pass at haggling and personal deals. If you work in complex B2B sales or want a framework for long-term partnerships, one reviewer in that line of work found it thin. For most other people it is an easy recommendation.
Pros
- Stories and real-life examples make the tactics easy to follow and remember
- Short at about 2.3 hours, so it fits into a weekend or a few lunch breaks
- Clear sequence from planning and opening offers through trading to closing
- The instructor's delivery is described as entertaining and easy to listen to
Cons
- Leans toward bargaining and consumer haggling, not broader negotiation theory
- A low-star reviewer found the examples unrelatable for B2B and SaaS sales
- Only six quizzes and no exercises, so real practice is left to the learner
Very easy to listen to, I get all the points he wants to explain and I'm learning on the way The stories really help to understand and I feel like all the aspects are covered
Labeled all levels, but it really suits beginners and casual negotiators more than seasoned dealmakers.

Wonderful Course, it helps really see clearly how easy it is to negotiate. It is simple planing ahead, a bit of practice and of course being flexible, while maintaining composure. What really helped me personally, is seeing it as a game.

no systematic, nothing too practicle to use. almost no use to me
By Ashley Camber on 5/20/2026
Love his examples--they seem easier to remember than memorizing names for tactics. He's entertaining and enthusiastic, and thankfully it's highly educational too. Plus his accent is enjoyable to listen to. :)

I like that the lessons are short and straight the point. I love that it's full of practical examples. It would have been amazing to have more role play examples, from each side: buyer side and seller side not only buyer side.
By Regenia Thurman on 5/1/2026
Very enjoyable. I've heard information I have NEVER heard before. I will keep listening. Taking notes and making sure that my approach is motivated with integrity. The insight on how this is done is eye opening.

By RAZVAN VIERU on 4/14/2026
I personally wasn't very good at negotiations and I would crumble pretty easily. I believe that this course has helped understand better that it's just a game and it would not hurt anyone if you tried to get something cheaper. But the greatest thing about this course is you can use it for other things in life, not just for sales.
By Ariani Putri Widyanti on 3/25/2026
This course is highly insightful and practical, especially in building structured and strategic negotiation skills. The material is clearly delivered and supported by relevant, real-world scenarios. I found it particularly helpful in learning how to communicate concerns professionally, use data to support arguments, and apply techniques like “If you, then I” to reach more balanced agreements. The role-play exercises were especially valuable, as they provided hands-on experience and helped boost my confidence in handling complex negotiations. Overall, this course delivers great value and is highly recommended for anyone looking to strengthen their communication and negotiation skills.
By Samna Saly on 2/21/2026
