Course Description
Parsing JSON is an integral part of most of iOS applications. The new version of Swift introduced classes and APIs that make JSON parsing easy to handle. This course is all about JSON encoding and decoding using Swift language. You will encounter many different JSON responses and learn how to decode those responses to your models. This course is packed with real world examples and can help you gain a better understanding of consuming JSON APIs for your iOS applications.

It was a really good course from beginning to the end, at first maybe it could be boring if you are used to parse a lot of JSON data but keep it going because I'm pretty sure there are some tricks, features on the encoder and decoder you might not know and those could be your "aha" moments to make this course worth, it is for all kind of experience so you'll find something useful no matter your experience!

The course and instructor was excellent. I finished it in 2 sittings. With good pace, he explained perfectly. Just to let one wrong thing (I guess), in chapter 16, "Decoding dates with timestamp", time 6:37 (date formatter), the date got printed is either wrong or formatter used was wrong but I guess there is something problem in decoding. I see result was wrong. I expected one more thing, ie, u will give an example at least once using classes than storyboard. But otherwise, excellent course. Enjoyed it and thought of getting thousands dollars worth of knowledge back from this course.

Love the course and the very informative instructor. I've completed the course, and found Section 6 and Section 7 to be the most valuable for me. These are the sections that really taught me how to decode multi layers of JSON data, easily and with some repetition (I continued to add code to my examples, even after the completion of the lessons)! Mohammad is a very good instructor, with an easy voice to listen to. Thank you!

I found the first lectures slow, but I have to admit that the progression is very well done, and seen the importance of the subject (both personally and programmatically) the progression is very well done, and very pertinent. The course has delivered to my expectations: become familiar with the aspects of json encoding and decoding. Now i'll start applying what I have learned. I highly recomment the course.

I took this course to achieve a solution and understanding of my particular use case... but I am finding even more value in learning how to handle any JSON case! I would have liked to see some implementation where variables are passed to the API's URL and looping through the decoded JSON in a View - I suspect this is something I might see in the SwiftUI course which I am also taking.

Just completed this course and it really helped to clear up how json coding and decoding works (which I found very confusing). There are multiple examples of decoding simple, nested, and complex json formats. I found this to be well worth the money and Mohammad Azam is an excellent teacher. I already watched his excellent course on MapKit, which I also recommend watching if you are interested in this topic. If he ever updates this course again, I would like a final lecture using the same material to populate a tableview in a simple xcode app. As it is, this course was all done with Playgrounds, which showed the methods well, but I still would have appreciated seeing the json worked into a simple app as well. Thanks for a great course.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Mr. Azam explained it very well and provided good resources for follow up. The only reason I was stingy with the stars was because all the JSON data he used was typed into the playgrounds and not a single example where a URLSession was used.

Instructor is knowledgeable and a clear presenter, but I think the course could have been more comprehensive. I was expecting more - especially with module titles like "Advanced JSON Parsing" - I feel like it didn't fully deliver. And I would like to have seen more real-world scenarios such as handling missing keys or data, which does happen sometimes when consuming 3rdparty resources. Didn't really discuss using failable decodable or optionals.

The course is really good. The instructor explain really well everything, but I bought that expecting some real life exemplo and he didn't use any online jsons to teach how to open an simple session. Basically he open the XCode Playground, simulate examples of Jsons and structures, and talk about them. Again, the course is really good and I've learned a lot, but I did feel it could be way more complete and useful using at least one real life end point.

So far so good. Using playground is really good as it saves allot of time. But instead of complaining about current version issues one should downgrade to the stable version. As new versions are always buggy which should not be the case. The course is really useful as it almost covers all the aspects of JSON parsing using new protocols of the swift language. It feels like it mostly covers the decoding part which is good but it will be great to have some more things related to Encoding as well. Overall really great course as it really covers the very core part of application development with new strategies.
