Our take
Based on the ratings of 10,060 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in September 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
Mumshad Mannambeth's bootcamp is a survey course. In about 17 hours and 297 lectures it touches Linux, networking, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and a short run of Python. It was last updated in September 2026, so it is current. The audience is someone new to DevOps who wants to know what each tool does before picking one to go deep on. It will not make anyone job-ready alone, and the syllabus shows why: many sections run only a few minutes.
Praise is steady and specific. Reviewers say the teaching explains the need for each tool first, and several beginners say the concepts click. A backend developer new to DevOps called it a good match. Of 10,060 ratings, 6,172 are five stars and 3,083 are four. The complaints sit in the 3-star and lower reviews. Jenkins feels rushed, Terraform is called dry and Ansible weak, and Python fades late in the course. A couple of reviewers say it feels stitched together, with nothing tying the tools into one picture. The labs run on KodeKloud's own platform, and one reviewer found the hints weak.
With 80,079 students and fewer than 2 percent of ratings at one or two stars, the course mostly does what it promises. Treat it as a first map of the field. Once a tool grabs your interest, follow it with a focused course on that tool. As an overview it is easy to recommend. As a replacement for deep study it is not.
Pros
- Explains why each tool exists before showing it, which beginners say makes the concepts click
- Covers Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and Python in one place
- Reviewers call the hands-on labs interactive and useful practice
- Refreshed in September 2026 and rated 4.6 across 10,060 reviews
Cons
- Jenkins, Terraform and Ansible feel rushed or dry to some reviewers
- Labs run on KodeKloud's separate platform, and one reviewer found the hints and guidance weak
- One reviewer says nothing ties the tools together, and many sections run only a few minutes
the way he explained , what is the need , what tool we can use for that need, so this help understand the need for every tool.
Fits true beginners and developers new to ops, though one reviewer found the pace too fast for a first course.

One of the great instructors. Even though I know most of this stuff, I keep revisiting different topics to refresh my knowledge because you don't do these things day in and day out as you progress in your career. You need someone who can explain concepts in a way that is easy to relate to, and Mumshad is one of those instructors.

not a beginner course. Glancing over the topics too fast (not explaining in details like why it happens, how it happens). Jenkins section is completely skipped ! The female instructor doesn't even care to explain what is happening and why it's happening (as if she's doing revision). Course started on good, interactive note (labs are helpful and interactive) but overall contents of the course is not upto the mark. Only labs are helpful. I study from other place and use this course for labs only.

I started this course with zero knowledge of DevOps. After completing it, I gained a solid foundation in DevOps concepts and tools. Although a few advanced topics are not covered in detail, that's expected for a foundation course. It has given me the confidence to continue learning and move on to advanced DevOps courses. Highly recommended for beginners!

This is a best course for a beginner in DevOps. The best thing of this course is the hands on labs. Highly recommand this course if you want to start your journey in DevOps. A huge thank you to KodeKloud and all the amazing instructors. Your passion for teaching made this course incredibly interactive, engaging, and enjoyable from start to finish. Every lesson was easy to follow, hands-on, and packed with practical knowledge. I truly enjoyed the learning journey and gained valuable skills along the way. Keep up the fantastic work.

This course has provided a deep understanding of the basic umbrella of DevOps, the tools and environments within DevOps, and hands-on labs to become familiar with setting up these environments in a terminal. It has been harder to learn these concepts and tools individually, given the different teaching styles out there, but having this resource in one place is extremely helpful.
By Shubhanshu Nishad on 6/12/2026
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of DevOps, starting from the basics and progressing to advanced concepts. It covers essential tools and technologies such as Git, Docker, Python, along with multiple real-world DevOps practices.

Excellent course! As a complete beginner in DevOps, I found the content easy to understand, engaging, and well-structured. The course hooked me from the very first lesson and kept me motivated to continue learning. Kudos to the KodeKloud team for creating such an amazing learning experience on Udemy!

I have seen many videos for Devops Introduction and tools. But this is something which will explain overall using the tools which are currently used in companies mostly.
By Laura Pivoto on 1/27/2026

Mumshad Mannambeth is a wonderful instructor. From the course, the topics that were taught by him, his way of teaching - has been very helpful in making my learning experience smooth and filled with hands-on learning
