Course Description

If the internet was created today, AngularJS's core functionalities would have been built-in on day one. That's the mindset the developers had when they were creating AngularJS... how would we create a framework that would fix all of the core issues with the beginning of the internet?

Here's a simple concept: <h1></h1>

If you're familiar with HTML then you know this to be a heading tag which has default formatting on all web browsers. In short, it makes text stand out.

What if you wanted a tag like: <awesome-sauce></awesome-sauce>? Like just that tag? With it's own default formatting and function? With AngularJS this is downright simple. It's called a directive and something you'll learn in this series.

How about easy filtering of content in a list? Or ordering? These things can be done using other technology but AngularJS makes is super simple.

This course is here to teach you the fundamentals of AngularJS to build a blog application complete with filtering, directives, searching, typeahead, ordering, ngResource, and much more.

It all started with an idea. I wanted freedom... badly. Freedom from work, freedom from boredom, and, most of all, the freedom to choose. This simple idea grew to define me; it made me become an entrepreneur.

As I strived to gain freedom, overtime I realized that with everything that you do you can either (1) convince someone, somehow, to do it with you or (2) figure out how to do it yourself.

Due to a lack of financial resources (and probably the ability to convince people to do high quality work for free), I decided to learn. Then learn some more. Then some more. My path of learning website design started a long time ago. And yes, it was out of need not desire. I believed I needed a website for a company that I started. So I learned how to do it. The company died, my skills lived on... and got better and better.

It took me a while after learning web design (html/css) to actually start learning programming (web application, storing "data", user logins, etc). I tinkered with Wordpress, believing it could be a "user" site, but I was mistaken. Sure there are/were hacks for that, but they were hacks/work-arounds and simply not-what-wordpress-was-indended-to-be. Wordpress is for blogs/content. Plain and simple.

I've taken two previous Udemy courses, that covered the basics in vague details. This course was an appropriate step up and I learned a lot. Towards the end I felt like there was too much unnecessary details being pushed that I wasn't able to grasp everything. Perhaps the last two lectures in Section 3 could have been saved for a more advanced, follow up, course.

I've worked with Angular before so this is just a refresher, and it definitely is working great as such as well as learning new things about AngularJS that I didn't know before. It's nice to see different ways of doing things and to know why some methods are better for different than others, but the confirm click directive was a little much. Just seemed like a lot of different ways to do the same thing and a lot of jumping back and forth without a clear explanation of the purpose or benefits of each method. That's the last lecture I saw before writing this, other than that, the course has been great.

it was a lil bit fast and confusing because every time we had to make same thing in a different file. but overall good to know some new tricks

By Stephen Petzold on 1/23/2018

The reason for my high rating is because of how clear and concise these videos are with the basic principles and the way he introduces new material is perfectly executed.

Good course, very knowledgeable instructor. It went a little fast for me, as I have very little experience with Angular. I would definitely need to watch it again to have a full grasp on some of the concepts. That being said, the instructor definitely knew what he was talking about, and explained it well. The pace was the only issue for me.

By Michael Robinson on 5/5/2017

Walk-through and narration are clear and easy to follow. Sometimes a little fast, as I am very rusty with my HTML and Javascript. However, since I can come back and review as often as I want, this pace is ideal! This course is exactly what I need. I feel empowered.

Usefull practical examples, especially the part where Bootstrap comes in. The fundamental part is a bit of a rush, I miss the step-by-step structure in there and explanation why things are working like they do. For instance: something about the Digest Loop, Singletons, more about Common Directives, how to use services to share data over several pages etc. I think this course is a really nice addition after you've done a more fundamental AngularJS course. Thanks Justin for the good work!

Creating angular files by hand instead of using prepared files provided opportunities for learning Angular at a core level. I like that he explains each feature with hands-on coding. Also, the instructors focus on Angular instead of getting bogged down in associated client technologies such as NodeJs and NPM, Bower, Gulp, etc. was refreshing and appreciated.

This is a great course for starting to learn AngularJs. It's easy to understand and the instructor is good at teaching.

Course is awesom, there is some adveanced angularjs codes, for beginners in angularjs is difficult to follow course. Thanks for instructors.
