Course Description
Want to Make $10,000 Or More per Year Authoring Udemy Courses?
The Udemy team recently announced that 1/4 of its instructors make more than $10,000 per year selling their Udemy courses online. More than $10,000. I personally make well over $30,000 per year. That's a lot of passive income to simply watch pass you by without acting. Maybe it's time you considered taking your piece of the pie.

Brian Jackson
Hello,
My name is Brian Jackson. I'm the author of about a dozen books, the publisher of well over 100 books, and a Udemy instructor with over 40 courses.
This is my story...
1 Origins
I was born in the middle of the last century in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from Humboldt State University, surrounded by the redwoods of Northern California. After 14 years at Lockheed Missiles and Space as an IBM system programmer and 12 years at Cisco Systems as a test engineer, I retired at 48.
I instantly became bored.
2 Community College
To break the boredom, I enrolled at Columbia Community College to take writing, art, acting and statistics classes. I took 24 units over one year and received straight “A”s.
I was still bored.
3 Writing and Self-publishing
I began writing fiction and nonfiction books and self-publishing them on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords in July 2011. Though I wrote and published several books, my self-publishing business didn’t take off until my wife joined me.
4 My Wife and Author, Melanie Jackson
Melanie Jackson, my wife, was an author publishing over two romance novels per year through her New York publisher, Dorchester Press. After publishing 24 novels with Dorchester, the company folded, and Melanie was without a publisher (she wanted to write cozy mysteries anyway).

At the beginning I was really disappointed about the course. Because the progression is quite often interrupted with repetitions and is a little disorganized at the beginning. However, I started to picking up REALLY brilliant tips here and there. Now I am at the middle of the course and am loving Brian's teaching. There are many options to do a particular thing and as a beginner it is confusing to choose which path to take. Here comes the help in this course - I particularly like Brian's telling us what he thinks best and why. Thank you Brian for the course. It is very helpful for me.

I found this course totally useless and a waste of time. Too much repetition, poor demos, and instructor talked down to viewers as if they were idiots. If anyone wanted to make videos, it is assumed that they have basic computer knowledge and they are looking for cool ideas on how to make an effective presentation. I went as far as I did hoping that I could get something out of this course.

Great big picture overview that satisfies the adult brain. Clear and to the point. Not greedy. Focused on helping. The Camtasia Video Editor portion is a little hard to follow. I would prefer seeing how a task looks like at the end then working backward to see how the steps to get there happen. Still very good. One thing I really liked was that Brian used the making of this course to teach how a course can be made. This made it much easier to follow rather than adding another layer of brain focus for someone like me who is just starting. Well done.

I'm almost 50% of the way through the course and I haven't learned much new about Powerpoint or CamTasia. For new users, I don't think this is the best organization of the information to learn. I believe there are plugins that allow CamTasia to connect to Powerpoint, but the course has not mentioned them yet. I will probably change my review if the 2nd half of the course is better. The 2nd half of the course had some cool tips. Brian is a great instructor, but I don't think he has a thorough knowledge of Powerpoint or CamTasia. If you are looking for advanced topics, you might not find them here. He will get a beginner up and going and will show an intermediate user a few new tricks. The one thing I would have liked to have seen was the CamTasia/Powerpoint add on. Loved how Brian covers his revenue at the end of the course. Very honest and insightful.

Basics good. I picked up more in the second half and did not really need as many basics for PowerPoint or Camtasia. But yes, I got some good things from this course.

This course was VERY informative as I do want to produce training programs for Udemy. There were a lot of things I liked, particularly the info for PowerPoint and Camtasia. (I really need to get to work on learning both programs.) My favorite part came right at the end of Brian's program where he discussed in detail what works and what doesn't in regard to becoming a successful instructor. He was bold in showing us where he made money on his Udemy courses. He did NOT need to, but I am very thankful for the detail he covered. Yes, I do want to become a Udemy instructor!! This program has the wheels turning with ideas spinning in my head!!

You have decided to produce a course for Udemy?, your best bet will be taking Brians'course. He has the gift of making simple complicated things. He will walk you in a logical and simple way through the steps you shoul follow to complete your course production. After finishing the course you shouldn't have excuse for not to end up creating and posting your course at Udemy. He has recently up dated the course and you will find important tips about dealing with some times Udemy's troublesome courses approval procedures.

If you are looking for a way to maximize the awesome capabilities of PowerPoint and Camtasia then look no further than this course. And couple that with learning the ins and outs of Udemy you can't go wrong with this course. What i truly appreciate about the training is that the author focused on video demonstration as oppose to text, downloads and ebooks. If you want to get your first course up on Udemy, learn PowerPoint and Camtasia then you should get this course!!

I'm in the process of creating my first course, and Brian's course has really helped me have more confidence in using Camtasia. I also really like the way he walked through the process of setting up the course in the course content and curriculum area, and promoting the course. I felt like I got "inside information" from someone who is doing it! I'm excited about finishing my course. This was just what I needed! Thanks, Brian.

The course absolutely helped me achieve what I wanted to know, which was to learn the steps necessary to produce a udemy course The instructor is engaging and obviously prepared and knows his stuff. No complaints. Production quality of the video is questionable. I was running the course on a Windows 8.1, with screen resolution set at 1920 by 1080. It was very difficult to read the screen images (views of his monitor). At times, I had to stop the playback, zoom in, in order to read the what was on his screen that he recorded. It would have been helpful to have 'handouts' of some of the key information... e.g., the URL and example for the "BestBlackHatForum' I highly recommend this course if you are contemplating authoring udemy courses... His realworld experience included in the course makes the course very engaging. Well done, Brian... Thanks!!
