What you will learn

  • Build a modular parkour system that can be easily integrated into any Unreal Engine project using Actor Components.
  • Master Motion Warping to dynamically adjust character positioning during parkour animations.
  • Use Sphere Traces to detect obstacles, measure height and depth, and determine the correct parkour move.
  • Create custom collision settings to separate parkour objects from other world objects for precise detection.
  • Implement animation montages and curves for smooth transitions and accurate motion warping.
  • Dynamically enable and disable Foot IK using animation curves to prevent animation inconsistencies.
  • Expose key variables for easy customization, allowing fine-tuning of offsets, montages, and detection logic.
  • Migrate and implement the parkour system in any custom Unreal Engine project with animation retargeting.

Course Description

Have you ever wanted to implement a parkour system in Unreal Engine but found existing tutorials too complex or lacking explanations? This course is designed to bridge that gap by teaching you how to create a fully modular parkour system from scratch using Blueprints, Motion Warping, and Animation Montages.

We’ll start by building a parkour detection system using Sphere Traces, allowing the character to detect obstacles dynamically. From there, we’ll measure obstacle height and depth to determine the appropriate parkour action—whether it's climbing, mantling, or vaulting. You'll also learn how to work with custom collision channels, ensuring precise interaction with parkour objects.

To make our system fully modular, we’ll implement it inside an Actor Component, allowing you to easily integrate it into any Unreal Engine project. We’ll refine animation blending, implement Motion Warping for smooth transitions, and dynamically control Foot IK using Animation Curves to maintain realistic movement.

Finally, we’ll export our parkour system and integrate it into a custom Unreal Engine project, demonstrating how to transfer and adapt the system to different environments and characters.

By the end of this course, you’ll have a reusable, game-ready parkour system that can be adapted to any Unreal Engine project with ease.

L'instructeur explique bien, c'est très clair pour les débutants.

Yes, it was definitely a good choice. I found this course very useful, especially considering how short and focused it is. It gets straight to the point and clearly teaches what it promises: how to build a mantle, climb, and vault system in Unreal Engine. I appreciated that it doesn’t waste time with unnecessary information and instead focuses on the practical implementation of the mechanics. For anyone looking to learn this type of movement system and apply it quickly to a project, I think this is a well-structured and valuable course.

What an excellent lesson this is. Check this out potential students; if you plan on making a 3D game where you player character has varied movement, take this course NOW. This course will teach you exactly how to make a system that determines which actions your character will perform, depending on the surrounding environment. This aint just about parkour, this can apply to so many other genres. Awesome!

One of the best courses I've taken, does an incredible job at going into the whys and hows, doesn't go too fast and skip anything important but also doesn't take painfully long going over basic information. I got everything I had wanted out of this course and got more that I didn't even realise I had needed, and I imagine I'll be going through this course again to try and better understand the smaller details that went over my head the first time around.

The instructor provides very valuable Resources and provides a detailed explanation behind why they connect every node and what blueprint they use. Not only do I have a working parkour system, I KNOW my parkour system, allowing me to make alterations to it if I need. I highly recommend this course to anyone needing some sort of parkour in their game.

This course is perfect in every way : everything is well explained, the videos are short and all the info you need to know it's in there, the teacher also show the progress (as little as it is) and that is great, it's modular and can be integrated easily in any project. In short, I highly recommand this course for anyone. I learn a lot of things that you wouldn't find in Youtubes tutorials for free, it's money well spent, that's for sure. This course was above my expectations, there were not a single moment where I blocked and had to ask questions to the teacher to help me out, he explains things so well that I didn't felt lost during the course. It all went smoothly and doing a parkour mechanic in a game is no easy task, but with this course, it's feel like it's a no brainer. 5 stars no contest.

A lot of good starting knowledge for anyone new to unreal. Some useful new information regarding animations and animation warping, which was awesome. The teaching was straight forward and gave good explanations on why we do certain things and how things work which is great. I wish there was a bit more content. Again, this is great for someone new to unreal as a lot of the content was explained in great detail, but since I came with a bit of prior knowledge, I wish there was bit more more. All that being said, overall great content, and I still would recommend this course, especially getting a robust parkour system, as well as some animations.

I just finished the UE Parkour course — it was clearly explained and very well-structured for beginners. The modular approach is especially great; it gives anyone who completes the course the tools and flexibility to reuse the system in their own projects. Please keep that up in future courses! Also, I noticed that most Unreal Engine courses on the market don’t cover how to create a dialogue system — something like what you'd see in Hades. It’s a feature a lot of people are curious about, and I’ve seen many asking for it. Would you consider making that the focus of a future course?

By fred Xanders on 3/22/2025

I am very new to animations and have never even heard of motion warping. This course was great for teaching clean and modular systems. It's an expandable system and teaches a great workflow. It is a fantastic course for learning movement and parkour systems and is easy to follow. Worth every penny and a well-deserved 5 stars. I hope the tutor expands on this course further by adding various parkour elements. Thanks

This course is truly remarkable! Despite being concise, it delivers incredible value with its meticulously structured content that is both clear and easy to grasp. Every aspect has been thoughtfully curated to ensure learners receive detailed and precise explanations of everything they need to know. It goes straight to the point, avoiding unnecessary fluff, and prioritizes quality over quantity. The depth of the insights offered is genuinely worth the investment, making it an exceptional resource for anyone seeking valuable knowledge in a short timeframe. Kudos to the creators for crafting such an impactful learning experience—great job!
