Our take
Based on the ratings of 36 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in June 2016. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short course on two related skills: speaking to a camera and recording screenshare videos. It runs 1.9 hours over 37 lectures in five sections, and the biggest block is a technicalities section covering microphones, filming tips and Camtasia basics. The syllabus shows eye contact, pauses, tone of voice, hand gestures and teleprompter use. One reviewer was planning a Udemy course of their own, and that is the sort of person it fits best.
Ratings are strong. Of 36 reviews, 27 are five stars, seven are four, and two are three, with nothing lower. Reviewers like that the lectures are concise and easy to apply, and one skeptic of the multiple-instructor format ended up enjoying the mix of styles. The instructors are called knowledgeable and convincing. A viewer who had finished six or seven other speaking courses called this the most context rich of them. The gripes are small. One reviewer found the presenters stand in the same spot and rely on hand gestures, and another wanted to know which cameras, mics and lighting were used.
The course was last updated in June 2016, so treat the microphone and Camtasia advice as dated. The speaking sections on pauses, tone and body language age much better. At under two hours it is a quick watch, and the free previews let you judge the teaching style first. Anyone who wants a gentle, practical start on appearing on camera or narrating a screencast should find it useful. If you need current gear picks or serious editing training, look for a dedicated course instead.
Pros
- Covers both on-camera speaking and screenshare narration in one short course
- Reviewers call the lectures concise and easy to apply straight away
- Practical topics like pauses, eye contact, hand gestures and teleprompter use
- Several presenters keep the style varied, and a skeptical reviewer ended up liking it
Cons
- Last updated in 2016, so the microphone and Camtasia advice is dated
- One reviewer found the presenters stand in one spot and repeat similar gestures
- One reviewer wanted a list of the cameras, mics and lighting actually used
I've recently finished around 6-7 other courses for public speaking/speaking on camera, but this is by far the most context rich course from them all.
Listed for all levels, and it asks for nothing but an open mind. Beginners to on-camera work will get the most from it.

Course Description
With 30+ successful Udemy courses, Roy, Adam, Dragos & Richard have amassed 190,000+ students and over 33,000 Top Reviews.
Do you find it difficult to present in front of the camera? Do you struggle to attract and maintain the viewer’s attention? Maybe you find it odd to see recordings of yourself and think that your voice, body language and charisma could be better.
The truth is even if you had experience presenting in front of other people before, producing compelling videos can often be more challenging because you lack the crowd's feedback and you can't take on their energy.
Our Story
You would think that we were naturally good at presenting in front of the camera, but in reality we had our own growing pains.
For example, before launching his first Udemy course, Dragos had doubts whether he would be a successful communicator in this medium. He decided to launch the first course no matter what and the feedback he received was excellent. By making a conscious effort to continuously improve, he managed to bring his presentation skills to the next level. It seems silly to him now that he ever doubted he could make it.
Dr. Roy, on the other hand, had been conducting self-improvement training for over twenty years. However, only a year ago had he decided to start his own online business and begin generating passive income. Let's face it, endeavor like this at the age of 50 is quite a challenge but this is also why it has been so rewarding. Remember, it's never too late to take that next step.

I was skeptical at first because of the multiple instructors with different styles. Turns out it made it more interesting and fun to watch, and I learned something in every lecture.

This course is absolutely THE BEST EVER! Very informative. I go back to it over and over again because it is information that I can use everyday. Superb!
By Kip Meacham on 3/2/2017
The presenters are clearly capable. That said, there tends to be a lack of presentation variety (which is different from vocal variety). The presenters simply stand in the same spot and use hand gestures to emphasize points. Please note I am only on the fourth lesson as I get this review. I'm hoping the presentation variety improves as we move through and add new material and topics to the training.

I've recently finished around 6-7 other courses for public speaking/speaking on camera, but this is by far the most context rich course from them all. It delivers some clever tips & tricks, as well as specific issues you might run into when delivering your speech. Truly worth the money.

So far so good - everything makes perfect sense. I'm trying to imagine how I'm going to implement everything I'm learning. There are several concise tutorials provided by Camtasia as well, so, I would point students to those for further learning. I would like to know what cameras, mics, interfaces and other equipment were used in the making of this tutorial as well as lighting and positioning in the studio and outdoors. Overall, a good introductory course, thanks.

Great course guys, really valuable with some real example and easy to implementable. I used a few tricks while watching, really useful. A worthwhile buy.

Great job! This course has inspired and encouraged me to create my own videos and share my ideas with the whole world. I highly recommend this course to everyone.
By Katarzyna K on 1/14/2016
I really like how the course covers both on camera presentations and screenshare videos. I'm thinking about creating a udemy course of my own and I found all of the videos to be extremely helpful.
By Tommy on 1/14/2016
Absolutely brilliant. Learning presentation skills from the best. Planning to start emulating these two masters more to deliver compelling presentations in the future. Gives me much more confidence.
By Dénes Tárczy on 1/14/2016
These great instructors walked me through the whole process of creating a professionally looking and engaging video presentation. I really liked the content about captivating the audience! Highly recommended!
