Course Description
Welcome to the most comprehensive Vue course on Udemy!
The Vue Masterclass introduces you to the powerful VueJS library for building dynamic, reactive front end interfaces.
VueJS has taken the web development community by storm and is a fantastic technology to learn in 2023:
Vue has been used to built over 1,000,000 websites
Vue has over 200,000 stars on GitHub
Vue downloads on NPM have doubled year-over-year
Vue is used by leading tech companies like Netflix, Apple, GitLab, and Nintendo.
The best way to learn a technology is to create something with it. That's why the Vue Masterclass consists of a complete real-world project that we'll build together from scratch. I'll be coding alongside you from the very first line of code.
I believe this course is the closest I've come to capturing what it feels like to be a Vue developer on the job. We'll introduce and complete user stories, discuss tradeoffs of different technical approaches, summarize what we've learned at the end of each section, and more.
No prior experience with Vue (or any other front end library) is needed. Beginners are welcome!
The course starts with Vue basics and progresses to advanced Vue concepts including:
Creating Vue components
Styling Vue components
Using Vue directives to compose dynamic interfaces
Passing props between components
Emitting events
Routing our user from page to page
Testing Vue components
and more!
Throughout 50+ hours of video content, we'll cover numerous aspects of the Vue ecosystem including:
Vue (including both the Options API from Vue 2 and the new Composition API in Vue 3)
Pinia for global state management
Vue Router for navigating the user across pages in our application
Testing with Vue Testing Library and Vitest
Scaffolding Vue applications with Create Vue
Styling components with Tailwind CSS
Adding type checking with TypeScript
Linting our code with ESLint
Formatting our code with Prettier
and more!
Another aspect that makes the course special is its emphasis on testing. We'll discuss how to unit test our Vue applications using the Vitest and Vue Testing Library packages. We'll also walk through various testing methodologies, including test-driven development (TDD).
Vue Masterclass offers you an incredible, comprehensive introduction to the powerful Vue library. I'm super excited to build this project together with you and I can't wait to see you in the course!

Hi there, it's nice to meet you! I'm a New York City-based software engineer, author, and consultant who's been teaching on Udemy since 2016.
Like many of my peers, I did not follow a conventional approach to my current role as a web developer. After graduating from New York University in 2013 with a degree in Business Economics and Marketing, I worked as a business analyst, systems administrator, and data analyst for a variety of companies including a digital marketing agency, a financial services firm, and an international tech powerhouse. At one of those roles, I was fortunate enough to be challenged to build several projects with Python and JavaScript.
There was no formal computer science education for me; I discovered coding entirely by accident. A small work interest quickly blossomed into a passionate weekend hobby. Eventually, I left my former role to complete App Academy, a rigorous full-stack web development bootcamp in NYC. The rest is history.

Excellent course! The instructor has a lot of knowledge and explains things and concepts clearly and in detail. The key takeaways for me who now already worked with Vue (older versions 2.x): 1. Unit testing (and TDD). This course emphasis testing where for every component or functionality there will be a unit test coverage or approach where you write unit test first and implementation later (TDD). How, what and why to test? Different approaches, benefits and the philosophy behind unit testing and TDD. Everything is covered. 2. TypeScript (with Vue/Pinia). Of course, this is not a complete guide to TypeScript, but it will give you a strong foundation through practice of rewriting the whole main project completely to TypeScript. Both is so important that I cannot stress enough. I've seen how unit testing at one side could be a "black box" for many FE/UI engineers, and on the other side Unit testing became a norm in the industry (TypeScript as well). Every company wants it and you are expected to know it. 3. Composition API, Pinia and all Vue3.x new features and concepts. The progress in the course reflects a real process of software development and work in a Software Company with all the User Stories (like Jira tickets), changes in requirements, refactoring, even some repetition (which serves as a practice, but it is also sometimes part of a daily life), debugging etc. You will write unit tests from the very beginning and slowly dive into the matter as you progress through the course. Unit tests are integral part of software development and it is reflected in the course. The main focus of the course in general is code quality over feature variety implementations. You will learn how to write scalable, reusable, robust & cleaner code in general, application that is less bug/error-prone, structuring bigger Vue apps/codebases, reusable and maintainable components etc. That is the main goal of unit testing & TypeScript as well. My suggestion for future improvements to already great course would be to add more general/common features that one might wants to implement in the modern UI app; like Login functionality could be a real implementation with maybe JWT or Firebase and in technical scope maybe more details and more examples for composables. When I was halfway through my expectations already were exceeded, and it was 10/10 and the second half didn't disappointed, so again 10/10 :)

I just started with vuejs and I was looking for a course with a current tech stack (pina, ts, composition api, vite, vitest), which also includes the "old" syntax (options api) in comparising. Boris did a very good job starting from the options api with the "old" syntax and later on refeactoring everything into the "new" syntax. The same from js to ts. It made me able now, to understand older and newer projects, doesn't matter, which syntax they were using. Thumb up from my side!

A large (laaaarge) scale project would be the cherry on top for this course. Something that not only combines that things Vue developers will need in the real world, but also something that has real world value (for a portfolio). Something like an accounting app that has the user set up Auth, server data, inputting invoices, approve invoices, editing or deleting existing invoices, pulling data from a purchase order to autofill an invoice entry, etc.

After first 50 Videos I can say I have 3-4 settings, some styling and only data in view. This ist a lot talking and not much content. You can compress all stuff - whole course - you talking about in 100 videos or less. ;) UPDATE: I watched about 400 videos and the benefit is more regarding TDD Development in Vue. You need to have a long run and I watched all Videos in 2,5 speed with Udemy Video Playback Browser Plugin (or you have a time machine and get time for watching :D). I can now recommend this course more than from first impression.

An excellent course that covers a lot of ground but is focused and succinct. Boris explains concepts thoroughly and very well, so you know what you are doing, why you are doing it, where you need to get to and how it could be accomplished. He also discusses, when things do not go according to plan, why there is an error, where the error can be found and how it can be fixed, reflecting the real developer experience. This is one of the few courses that includes a full test suite, which seems to be missing from so many courses, but is essential for robust, maintainable code, whatever the language. This makes it one of the most-rounded and complete courses I have found.

This is by all means the BEST course I have ever taken on Udemy!!! It's simply exactly what I am after and I feel lucky to bump into this course by searching some vague terms. As just the title suggests, it's a Vue3 masterclass! I really like the way how the course was presented, starting from JS with option API and gradually transitions into TS with composition API. I had some gap between the two ways of doing things in Vue and now the gaps were filled! Didn't know the course takes a TDD approach and I just love it! Who doesn't want to have a high testing coverage? Once again I can't recommend this course enough. It's a must take for anyone who wants to learn Vue3.

I was half-way through the course when it got updated, and my completion for that first half somehow got deleted. I lost about 30 hours of work, and the course wouldn't complete unless I viewed every flippin video, including the '[DEPRECATED]' lessons I had previously completed. Even just skipping to the end of those deprecated videos (so I could attain completion and get my certificate so my manager wasn't like "WTF have you been doing all this time!??!") took up a lot of my, and therefore and my company's time. Outside of that headache, the course was very informative and helpful.

I think I can say having this course is 1 of my best choices in 2022. It took long time to finish this course ( though there are newly updated parts remaining) because I have only 2 or 3 hours a day after work and your speaking is too fast for a Korean to comfortably understand. :) briefly, I stared this course because I have to program with Vue in my new work place. I think things from this course are enough for me to adapt new environment. I wanted to describe more in detail. I am going to update after I finish updated contents.

It‘s really a fun course. Development of a real application from the beginning with installing the environment and step by step enhancing the code. Coding starts with simple approaches and refactors are made when they make sense for the developer. You don‘t get the final ways of coding but you are guided from simple to complex structures so you see the reason why it is done. And all these steps are accompanied by complete tests and even TDD approaches. Well done, Boris

This was a very good course to get stated with Vue 3. The teacher does talk a bit fast but a lot of information is covered. Two things I would have liked to have seen covered would have been using the search by locations. Locations is a big part of the Google careers search but nothing is covered in this course on how to use it. It is more complicated because the set function returns an array of arrays instead of all the locations in one array, and no matter what I tried I could not get it to work so only half of the functionality is there on the home search form. The second thing would have been Pinia as an alternative to Vuex as everywhere I have read online, Pinia is a better option for managing state. I decided to use Pinia and though it was a little challenging to change the code from Vuex to Pinia, I did get it to work. I hope perhaps these 2 things could be added in the future, or at least the locations because that would really add to the project being fully completed and more presentable as a portfolio piece. That to me is the only reason I gave this course a 4 star instead of 5. But still a great and thorough course.
