Enjoying learning all new stuffs in Xamarin. The course instructor explains so well through clear and constructive explanation. The course has been structured well combining, lectures, tasks, solution, and best practices. I had no idea about Xamarin Android but with this course, I am building up knowledge slowly and gradually. It is best advised not to ever rush, as you should understand the concepts properly. Focus and be consistent.

well Xamarin itself is totally different language to learn from Scratch, what I was thinking is if I known WinForms app development I could easily learn this one too but it's not. It has its own set of tools, properties, methods also with different syntax non of them common with Windows development. For basic things also we need to write many lines of code (e.g. Display Alert Messaging) . This course doesn't cover any Database related stuffs that is Data Driven Application (Master-Detail Forms, Reporting etc.) used in real world which I really wanted to learn.

The instructor seems very knowledgeable but the overall course is very poor, he will teach you loose things, which you can surely use to build your own app but in this course you're just going to build very tiny little "projects", in which they only serve to show that very specific thing the instructor is teaching. You will get the very basics but don't expect too much, it's an average course.

Very good and clear tutorial on Xamarin Android. You might get stuck in some of the topics like custom listView, but watch and watch it again and go to other resources for help like youtube if you need to. The better your knowledge in c# or java, the better you will grasp this course.

The course is good and the instructor know very well about android, but the negative points in my opinion were the version of the content, now a days we are on android 8.1 going to 9.0 and the course focus only in old versions. Things like fragments and navigation between activities for example were not mentioned.

Explanations are clear and concise. No beating around the bush or explaining things that don't need to be explained. A lot of the beginning concepts I didn't understand about Xamarin.Android were clarified by this course. I would recommend it to beginners to Android or Xamarin, and even beginners to C#. None of the coding got in the way of understanding the concepts of the Xamarin.Android framework or library. This course is a good way to develop an understanding of the basic capability and functionalities of Android using Xamarin. It's also a great way to learn how to develop quick and simple demos. That being said, this course is by no means comprehensive. The course only goes over Activities and Resources of the platform. If you want more depth or instruction about topics like Services, ContentProviders and the like, pick a different course. There was also very little discussion about how to design or structure an app. Every assignment and example in this course was a simple single page demo. If you're looking for more detail about best practices when developing and designing Android apps in Xamarin, this course will not provide any meaningful information on that topic. TL;DR Great for beginners who want to develop a very basic understanding of Xamarin.Android. Not for those who want in depth instruction about Xamarin.Android functionalities or design/implementation best practices.

About halfway through but so far I am very happy... the instructor gives "tasks" at the end some sections to do on your own then walks you through the solution, which I feel really helps reinforce the information. Course is a bit old, still very much relevant. I feel I'm learning a lot

The course is great, the best I've seen in Udemy so far. The instructor is very clear and approaches each topic slow enough for dummies to understand and fast enough for who understands some don't get tedious. Although the course claims to be a Master guide, It is a introduction guide to Xamarin, allowing the students to get in touch with it and create desire for development using it. I loved the course, only thing I really missed was some lessons about storing data and interacting with Databases, like SQLite.

By Ralph Trickey on 5/26/2016

I liked this course, it assumes you know C# and take you through creating simple applications including accessing files, styling and some other topics. If you want to learn about creating a simple stand-alone application this will help get you started. My main complaint is that it's not a 'master' guide, it doesn't create a real-life application. I would have liked to see it create one real application from beginning to end including multiple activities, suspend/resume and accessing a web site or other API somewhere. While the content is well articulated, it really needed a larger program to help bring all the concepts together.
