If you hope to code along, then this course is not for you. Overall, the instructor just gives brief explanation why he coded this or that way. But there is plenty of other info enough to start understanding what WebGL and Three.js are. Section 'Adding Realism' was the most interesting one. The main issue with this course is that some of the material is outdated and this makes provided examples useless. Also, I hoped examples would be more neat and nicer, like what you can see on https://threejs.org/examples/

The challenges are good and this course gives a solid introduction to basic concepts, but it really suffers from what feels like some messy/non-standard javascript and programming on the instructor's part, as well as some messy cuts/tricky pacing. The instructor sometimes uses some techniques/classes no longer supported by the three.js API and generally seems to use some questionable techniques for implementing the projects, which leaves me wondering whether what we're being taught here is all best-practice or not.

this was written in 2021 if your thinking of using this course go for it, it's taught me the basic of threejs when other course have failed by making it too complicated, fairenough the instructor dosent speak perfect english but he does a very good job at explain things to us the viewer, how the lectures are taught is in a style where he explains the line of code we will be learning with all the components then he shows you in the code where that code will be implemented then he further shows you the result in the browser you cant really go wrong with the course it teaches you what you need to know to get going .

The course seems good. But the accent seriously needs improvement. I know it's not your native language, but the students at least need to understand the technical terms. Using the subtitles was the only other option but since that's auto-generated was not useful at all. Adding them would help a lot. Another major point to note is that displaying a pre-existing code won't help a student. He can get that from StackOverflow. I would suggest writing it as the course goes along while explaining the reason for it. That would make it more impactful.

Shay is super good in teaching! He makes a recap every some lessons. I had some problems with the diamond explosion exercise but you have just to take the time to learn. I don't give up and i go straight with this course. I tried many three.js courses here in Udemy but this is the best for a noob like me and the english he uses is not so complicated to understand or fast. Thanks a lot Shy! PS: I'm sorry for my bad english but i'm still studying it, i'm from Italy :D

The course met my expectations. The instructor provided relevant information and delivered his instruction in a clear and effective manner. I felt that the instructor may improve his navigation through the material. An example is not showing the code to add a light to a scene, then showing what the student should expect to see, which they can't because the light hasn't been added yet, then going back and adding the light afterwards. This is the only thing that I think might be improved upon.

I learned a lot about three.js from this course, but I thought the presentation could have been a little better. A lot of courses on Udemy take the approach of providing the starting template for a lecture and then you follow along by typing in as they type and describe what is going on, which adds interactivity. However, in most of this course the final file and the code is just described which got a little boring at times. Most of the exercises were fun to do, except exercise 4, which required knowledge we hadn't been shown yet. Some of the content is out of date now with the latest version of three.js so you will need to look in the Q&A to figure out why the examples are not working.

It is the best course that I have made by Udemy. I appreciated much that Tim took several examples, each of them ending with a solution at the end of the chapter. I hate course that have just one project all over the course. Further on I liked Tim´s handling with a basic JavaScript-Layout with always the same seperation into the main and init function. So it makes fun working with a template. The only thing that did not work were no responses for my questions!! But nevertheless I give Tim 5 points!!

I got very comfortable, very quickly. almost every exercise is the perfect seed for more personal exploration. i immediately was able to program new and unique things on my own. i like how straightforward he is. the information is organized very well, ie, powerpoint definitions, graphics, examples, then code and explanation of code. I'm inspired to program my own ideas now, thank you Shay!

I am at around 80% of the course so it is fair to cast a review now. This is an introductory course on Three JS WebGL library Beginning with the Critical Review: The accent of the instructor is very thick and hard to be understood. Pronunciation is terrible. He say sometimes phrases that do not mean anything in English but you can manage to understand from the context. I know this is difficult to improve. I am not a native speaker. I suggest adding subtitles if they do not exist and improve a little bit if possible the pronunciation if possible. Some sections mainly the introductory videos which mentions few parts than what is actually presented), probably this because the instructor added sections after introductory videos was shot- That is fine!) What is not fine is the cutting suddenly of the video when a mistake is made and then patching it again. it is so annoying (I realize he is using Camtasia Video recording. This should not happen with right editing) Probably on next iteration of the course it would amazing if these would be addressed Concerning what is positive: The skills of the instructor are very good. He is knowledgeable and you can enjoy generally speaking the course and learn a lot from the course. You have to be knowledgeable in JavaScript 2016 ECMAScript version of course to take this course. I hope if the instructor is reading my comments that he adds more sections on multiplayer games in Three JS, and maybe a little bit about VR/AR etc... or create a separate course that is more advanced, we are happy to buy it. WebGL (three js, Babylon js ....) and WebVR and AR API on the web are in great demand these days!
