At some points, I wasn't sure what the instructor was doing. There are moments that the shortcut keys are showed at the screen, if that happened every time, it would be easier to understand. But in general, I liked this course a lot. Knowing nothing about Illustraor, about one day later I feel capable of doing my own artwork. I learned the essentials tools to simulate shadown and light on my creations, and the results is impressive. It was for sure a well invested money. If you are thinking about get this course, don't hesitate. Go for it!

So far the course has shown me some of the basic tools however I feel as if everything is just rushed. I'm sat here with a blank document waiting to draw something myself yet all I'm doing is watching how he does it not being tested at all. So far this course has not helped me achieve anything.

A good course, the only issues I had were related to anchor points and their manipulation in Illustrator, which was explained a bit too late in the course. The only other issue involved the stroking of a complex object, which I managed to pull off after a relatively exhaustive search online. This portion needs a better explanation and perhaps some better methods, as it seems Illustrator does not provide an easy way to do this kind of outlining without lots of caveats. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get a firm base in Illustrator to begin with.

After letting some of the stuff sink in and getting back into the course I finally got the right use of ShapeBuilder along with using the shortcuts for the blending modes. Went for other resources where they explain it a bit more clear or maybe I just got ready to understand the alt+click move and it's not so "hard to understand why it works for him" as it was the first time. Maybe it is because it's a lot to get in at first. But pausing the video every 3s or so and taking my time to learn did it. The way I would teach the course to beginners is take it really slow and keep on doing it 3 to 5 times slowly to really sink in the concept of layering and just stress enough on those basic concepts along with changing the colour of the whole object when grouped. Show mistakes that can happen due to not grouping for instance and it would become immediate and obvious why all steps are necessary into making professional looking art.

I had loads of fun doing this course, the lectures are pretty short which is good as you get a small hit of information which you can go off and practice then come back for a little more. The only complaint I can think of is maybe have more lectures on the separate tools and more exercise to practice them within the lectures, for example make the user pause the video and use the tool then come back and see if they used it correctly. Also maybe define the use of the shape builder tool earlier on as it took me ages to figure it out. Other than that I am now more confident in creating game art at a quick rate. All my friends and family as well as some strangers are enjoying my art!! Cannot wait to use it in my future games! Thanks a lot!!!!!!! P.s I am looking forward to future challengers Keep up the good work

The course is fast and easy to process. The big focus is on workflow and how to make decent vector art in a high pace. I say decent because you can make to production value so much higher and the instructor has another course just for that. The instructor is very good at answering posts/questions and giving feedback. The only "minus" I feel about the course are mainly audio related. Also the quizzes would need to be restructured a bit imho. Though that doesn't change my 5 star rating since I see these things as very small issues. All in all, I highly recommend this course! :)

Thanks so much Rafael for this marvelous course ! I like so much the tools you teach us . But most of all, I like your transfert us the WAY TO USE IT ! What a shortcurt ! Now, I know how to do, I know how to do it quickly ... and most of all I feel that I am as autonomous as necessary to continue my travel in illustrator improving practice ! Thanks it's a so precious present (sorry for my poor english i'm french. For the non english spoken, this course is really easy to follow ) Thanks , I had to go practice, practice and .... practice again ! now, I know it's possible ;-)

The course is well structured and really engaging. The instructor does his best to help students and reviews all the questions and submitions really fast. I was already familiar with Illustrator but still learned a lot. Rafael does great job on explaining the very basics in a way 6-year-old could understand and presents his own really productive workflow with highly versatile technique at the same time. Looking forward to see more from this instructor and highly recomend the course to anyone looking forward to start with Adobe Illustrator or with game art.

I was a bit sceptical at first when I bought this Course as with some other courses here on Udemy you don't really get what you paid for. Either it is poorly executed or just doesn't deliver. Since I am not a Pro Artist and need to Skill up my Art I was surprised by how quick and easy you can create Objects or Graphics that actually look really good! I did show my GF an Axe I created with the Help of this Course, and she told me that it could be from Zelda. I created Stones, Wood, Metall, Axes, Coins with ease while following what Rafael is doing. Sometimes he is a bit to quick and I need to rewind a few seconds but no way near to become frustrating. He answers questions or posts Feedback in a pretty quick fasion which is awesome if you do have Questions or wanna post your Creations. I recommend this Course to anyone who wants to start with Game Art or Art as such. If you gave up hope to become an Artist, try out this Course for you to regain hope in creating what you always wanted. If I could I would give more then just 5 Stars...and now what next? I want more courses from him :)

I really enjoyed going through this course. Rafael doesnt just teach you how to use some important tools in Adobe Illustrator, but he also teaches you the right techniques to use these tools to create good looking graphics in an easy way. Also, this is one of the first courses I've tried here on Udemy where the instructor engages with his students and encourages posting our creations on the discussion forum :) Good job Rafael, I hope you make more courses in the future. I especially liked the Art Brush section where we learned to make custom brushes. Thats really useful :) Kind regards, Eli Solowej
