This is a complete web development course. Amazing, outstanding, perfect. But the only problem of this course is that this course was was published in 2015 and web development updates pretty soon.

I am learning from scratch and wondering how I am going to start learning from, with so many choices. I happen to come across this and think why not start somewhere first. And here I am. I wasn't really expecting to catch on. but now I am more clear how to work on. with a basic and clear introductory course like this. I am more motivated to dive through the books. Thank you for spending the time to make the videos and sharing the knowledge at such a good price. This will be a good start for a newbie like me. Appreciate lots.

The thing I like best about this course is that he's breaking everything up into study-size pieces. Not only does it aid in learning, the smaller chunks help so that you can stop almost anywhere , returning tomorrow without having lost too much of what you learned yesterday. For beginners this is a must. Also with the jsBin you see your work immediately, so if you make a mistake you see it and can figure out what you did wrong from the start. To me this is a God-send. I wish all programs had this nifty tool.

Though I've only completed first 2 sections, instructor is very thorough and easy to understand. The segments are very small - only 2 to 3 minutes each so it's broken down very simply to be able to squeeze in several new areas even if I only have 15 minutes. I appreciate that aspect. It would be better if there were more like 5 minutes because sometimes it seems like he covered the topic too quickly, but overall - I'm very happy with what I'm learning. This is being used in conjunction with a class I'm taking in college on web development so it will augment and help solidify topics and reinforce both areas.

I find the instructor to be very knowledgeable and passionate about the material that he is teaching. The delivery is clear and engaging which keeps my attention focused on the topics in the lectures. The course lectures are very well structured - organized with a progressive flow. I have learned a variety of skills from taking this course; and recommend this course for anyone who would like to become a web developer.

There is some decent information and good examples but the way he presents and describes a lot of information can be extremely misleading and is a very bad way to build a foundation as a developer. For example, when explaining .animate() using {left:'100px'} or {left:'-100px'} he makes it seem as if you are pushing the box left or right 100px from its current position, when in reality you are changing its left margin style attribute. There is a lot that he explains in a way that isn't accurate and even more that he only half-explains that would leave a new developer with a very poor understanding of the concepts. it's an OK class for a quick review or refresher but I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a foundations course. If you're just starting out I would recommend Stone River's How to Become a Web Developer or something like that.

I love courses from John. He's very knowledgeable and is able to present in a way as to be very helpful in your own dev projects and learning. This course goes in deep and very good for learning and even review sections that we don't use every-day. I really enjoyed this course. 5/5 without hesitation! Thnx so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise ;-)

By Khai Pham on 7/10/2014

That's essentially the feelings I get from hearing this guy trying his best to teach the class. While he clearly has knowledge on these subjects, it doesn't make him a good teacher. The materials cover a wide range of information but seriously lack good examples. Overall, the course is very dry. If you can stand hours of lessons without humor, you may give it a try. If you're like me, then you'll probably get bored after 30 minutes.

This is the best programming bundle. John does a great job in explaining html, css & JS. His videos are not long and are very well categorized. For you that are eager to learn, I strongly recommend this. I am only 12, and this has taught me a TON!

If you take this course, and put your time into it, it will be fun and enjoyable. Mr. Bura knows his material well, and has prepared one of the most remarkable video series on how to learn different Programming languages. Thank you Mr. Bura for taking your time for making these videos, I hope you've read my review and I hope to see more videos from you!
