Power BI has been updated since this course, and many things are different - especially installing PBI in the first place. Data supplied is not explained. Lesson titles do not match content (e.g. M Language) Instructor spends way too much time repeating very basic things (telling a data science audience that 'column charts go to the ceiling, bar charts are horizontal!'), and the useful things - connecting databases, using SQL, comparisons and connections with programming languages are either absent or hidden. Not recommended.

Great going so far!

For a start the narator is not Jose which was not obvious to me when I signed up for the course. I've enjoyed his courses before and this was the main reason I signed up for this one. While the narrator obviously knows her Power BI, it wasnt very easy to follow or code along. It wasn't always obvious what template was being used / if any from the resources so it wasn't easy or intuitive to participate while you watched.

I bought the course on day 1, and it has been rough. My background: Studying for Data Analytics, exposure to a lot of Excel and two other courses by Portilla. The Good: The course proceeds from the easy to the harder stuff in a way that builds forward. I liked the order of presentation. I knew nothing about PowerBI going into this, and learned a whole lot about the toolkit enough that by the end I'm ready to integrate it with my SQL and Excel training. The Bad: Portilla is not the one teaching this time around, the course was perhaps licensed from someone else. The class data provided at the start did not match the data used in the lectures, which forces you to attempt an equivalent action to follow along, something that in an unintended way got me to think more about the material. I have been told that the data has been fixed since launch, but to go back and change would require re-editing column data types and model settings, something I was comfortable doing because of prior power query experience but would likely be confusing for the "Zero to Hero" audience the course appeals to. It just seems sloppy, something I didn't expect from Pierian Data. A thing to remember about this course: it teaches you ABOUT the tool, it does not focus on DOING A JOB WITH the tool. This course is a guided entry point to being familiar with the software, not a demonstration of actually using it with purpose. In that it does well, I feel better able to eventually certify. I just with the launch hadn't been so sloppy.

Content and delivery were very good. From the DAX modules forward, the screen was rather small when viewing the demonstration modules. This made viewing on a 9" tablet a little difficult.

I liked the way the course is presented and demonstrations are very clear
