This is NOT a beginner tutorial. I have release some games in Godot in the past and in Unity, though I struggle to understand many concepts used by the tutor. First off let me say that the game they are making is great. Modern vibes, juicy gameplay, cool effects. I love what they're building and it's the main thing that attracted me to buy the course, since all other co-op tutorials make bad looking / poor gameplay prototypes. However, I am currently unable to continue this tutorial because of the following reasons: 1. Some lessons are easily understandable and clear, the tutor stays and explains the easy stuff a lot but then we jump onto completely different coding practices that are quite difficult and I feel like I didn't get enough explanations for them. 2. The coding practices the tutor is doing are very good, but I don't find it a good thing for beginners. I feel like when you're a beginner and you just want to learn, you shouldn't care about the best, most omega-optimized practices along with relatively difficult math calculations from time to time, where you don't even know what you're writing down (as a learner). Personally I would like a balance: it's (somewhat) optimized, but it's EASILY understandable as well. tl;dr - I was expecting the course to be easier. As someone who used Godot for ~3 months and released some small itch.io games, the practices used are way too difficult for me. (I am aware that this might just be a skill issue)

Course has good content, 5/5 rating overall. Few notes: * Last third of the course is rather "heavy", especially around creating networked ugprade system (I think chosen implementation design was not optimal, but going through the exercise of solving it we are getting pratical with quirks of implementing something networked, so it's fine) * Course is not really about multiplayer, but more about creating game in Godot, that coincidentally has multiplayer (I would like to have more content around multiplayer aspects). If you are completely new in Godot, I would suggest taking Section 6 very slowly and methodically. It's a ride.

you are such a skilled instructor. I wouldn't want to learn godot from anyone else. One of the most intimidating aspects of programming in godot for me was architecture and organization, and i've seen you address this in some of your code review videos. I was thrilled when you brought that up in this course, the initial organization of your files, and despite having used godot on and off for a few years, I was surprised to have learned alot about the UI, simple things I never would've figured out! Thank you very much for making this course, I feel confident this very course will be the key to my success.

In contrast to the below review... as a beginner a lot of things in the 2nd half of this went a bit over my head and it will definitely take multiple plays for me to understand. The pace picks up and found myself pausing super often to catch up. However without that pace the course would be more like 50 hours. You can tell the teacher is genuinely super knowledgeable about everything he discussed in the course and a great teacher. I really look forward to more courses from you, such incredible value. Thanks

Firebelley has become my favorite teacher when it comes to gamedev. This must've been the first time that a course has left me feeling that I wanted more. The pacing was great. Where other courses would keep the same pace all throughout the course making the same redundant statements, 'belley was methodical in the beginning and then speeding up as the course went along, making sure to point out in detail only the relevant bits. I took the liberty to port the game to C# as we went along and the GDScript code presented was succinct and so well structured that, some API differences aside, porting was trivial and implementing my own ideas (like a slightly different implementation for the state-machine or a interactive soundtrack) was a breeze. All in all, I just became a fan and I sure hope you make make a 3D-oriented or intermediate level course some day.

Far exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and presentation. The recorded audio is clear for the entirety of the course and the instructor is very intelligible -- not something you can take for granted with many Udemy courses. The pacing is excellent and the overall flow of the course feels natural and intuitive. There's only a handful of lectures that exceed 20 minutes and even when they do the content is engaging and you feel like you've accomplished a meaningful delta by the end of each. The instructor is highly knowledgeable about a variety of game development practices and covers each with thought and care. I highly recommended this course to everybody!

This course is misleading. It's not only Godot Multiplayer course, but rather a full game development topics. 1- Project Directory Structure. 2- Game Design Concepts. 3- Game Architecture. 4- Basic Shader. 5- Adding Juice to game. And, more. I have reached the particle part of this course, and usually I post review at the end. But, this course is different. What one can do, but admire a person like this instructor.

Great pacing, and I appreciate showing mistakes (both intentional and unintentional) and the results thereof. Each video has enough detail to understand its core concept, and when it might not be enough, this fact is called out and the linked resources fill in the gap. I'm a long-time hobby programmer (20-ish years), though intermediate at best. Information given the way Firebelley does helps me get past hurdles I've been slamming my head into forever.

I'd say I'm a beginner Godot developer who's pushing into intermediate territory. This course was great for me despite many times where I dutifully transcribed code I didn't understand, mostly relating to client/server authority. I gave the course five stars because it was probably the most helpful all-around Godot tutorial I've ever seen. The time and care Firebelley put into explaining so many aspects of the engine and GDScript was huge for me. Things I didn't even come into the course expecting to learn are now much clearer. I now feel a lot more confident moving into more challenging Godot projects even if I might take a breather on the multiplayer stuff for the time being ;)

Hello! I just finished the multiplayer course, and it was a bit of a challenge doing it in C#, but I learned so much along the way and really enjoyed the process. I really appreciate how clear and practical the explanations were. Thanks for putting this course together—it was a great experience and definitely helped me level up my Godot multiplayer skills!
