In today's fast-paced web development landscape, efficiently handling time-consuming and resource-intensive tasks is crucial for building high-performance applications. Django Celery, a powerful asynchronous task-processing library, provides the perfect solution to address this challenge. This comprehensive course, "Django Celery Mastery: Python Asynchronous Task Processing," is designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills necessary to harness the full potential of Django Celery and elevate your Python web applications to new heights of scalability and responsiveness.
Course Description: The course begins by guiding you through the process of setting up a fully functional Django Celery working environment. You'll learn the essentials of Django Celery, explore task producers and consumers, and gain hands-on experience building Docker containers for Django, Redis (the message broker), and Celery workers. Additionally, you'll understand the role of a results backend and create a Redis Docker container to facilitate effective task communication.
Moving forward, you'll dive deep into defining and executing Celery tasks within a Django application. You'll discover how to create and register tasks, start and manage Celery workers, and configure task routing for optimized task distribution. Advanced concepts such as task prioritization, task grouping, task chaining, task rate limits, and passing arguments and returning results from Celery tasks will be thoroughly covered. You'll also explore both synchronous and asynchronous task execution approaches and leverage the Flower monitoring tool to track and monitor Celery workers and tasks.
Handling task failures and retries is a critical aspect of asynchronous task processing, and this course provides comprehensive introduction of this topic. You'll gain insights into common types of exceptions and errors in Celery tasks and explore various error handling strategies. You'll implement automatic retries, handle errors in task groups and chains, and discover techniques for handling failed tasks and task timeouts. Additionally, you'll learn how to gracefully shut down tasks, clean up failed tasks, and leverage error tracking and monitoring tools such as Sentry.
Task scheduling and periodic tasks play a vital role in managing recurring tasks efficiently. In this course, you'll understand the fundamentals of task scheduling, including scheduling tasks to run at specific times or intervals. You'll explore the customization of periodic tasks, implement crontab schedules, and ensure schedule persistence in a Django application. Furthermore, you'll learn how to schedule Django custom commands using Celery Beat and monitor service status using custom event tracking and alerting mechanisms.
Throughout the course, hands-on exercises, practical examples, and real-world scenarios will enhance your learning experience and enable you to apply the concepts directly in your own projects. By the end of this course, you'll have gained mastery over Django Celery and be equipped with the skills to implement efficient asynchronous task processing in Python applications, ensuring scalability, responsiveness, and optimal resource utilization.
Whether you are a Python developer, Django developer, web application developer, software engineer, backend developer, or a technical lead/architect, this course will empower you to unlock the full potential of Django Celery and revolutionize your approach to asynchronous task processing. Don't miss this opportunity to level up your skills and supercharge your applications with the power of Celery. Enroll now and take the first step towards mastering asynchronous task processing in Python!

I don't understand why there are neutral reviews. The course fully covers both the main and related topics. The author provides real-time demonstrations with actual code. Big thanks to the author for such a clear and practical approach. This course definitely deserves the highest rating.

Only just started this. The information is given in clear manner and is easy follow and the way that he speaks is concise and to the point with hardly any fillers in his speech which makes it better for me to learn as I'm not waiting for the the next "umm"

Really good course to get to know Celery and Django. I like the imperfections in it - in real life nobody gets the code running from the first try, so the on-screen debugging was rather nice. As a recommendation, I would suggest going more in-depth with advanced Celery (and Django) topics, like daemonization, signals, concurrency, etc., instead of how to integrate with Sentry, which I found superfluous.

Non pas trop C'est très brouillon, quand on suit exactement ce que fait le formateur cela ne marche pas. des fichiers dans la vidéo existent pas dans le projet Bref c'est très difficile de suivre ce cours

It was good for the basics of celery However, I'm disappointed that I didn't explain more intermediate, advanced skills or bring different datasets and scenarios. Also, I felt a lot of frustration from the perspective of the student who allocates a lot of time to the lecture because the entire flow of the lecture was not smooth. Next time, I hope you will improve these areas through more systematic preparation.

I believe that was missing just a little bit of preparation and organization before each leasson to the class flow smothie without interruptions in the middle of explanation and a more concise organization about where to put the code. Another thing that I was missing here so far (I will change later if it is the case) is a course update, because in some parts of code the explanation was not working anymore, some examples about how to create canvas and to mention about chords.

So I just wrapped up Zander's Celery course, and overall, I'd give it a thumbs up, especially if you're new to the whole Celery scene. Zander definitely knows his stuff – you can tell he's got a solid grasp on Celery and all its quirks. One thing that stood out was how deep he dives into the details. He really seems to have a handle on every nook and cranny of Celery, which is awesome. However, I did feel like a small, practical project would've tied everything together nicely. You know, something beyond the individual examples that shows how Celery works in a real-world scenario. Sometimes, it felt like Zander got a bit tangled up in his own code and had to do some debugging. But well... this is how coding goes... And to be fair, he was super quick at finding and fixing those bugs, which was impressive. If you're looking to get a solid foundation in Celery, this course is definitely a good starting point. Just be prepared to maybe build a little side project of your own to really cement those concepts.

Having already had experience with Celery and Python myself it helped to "fill in some details" explaining more of the reasons for a Request Broker vs Result Broker. I am struggling with something which pushes data onto a Redis Queue and then needs a Celery Worker to register with Auto Retry support. I've done this before, but I don't have my code with me for when I implemented auto retry handling to reschedule tasks after a period of time.

It is good for someone who is beginner or wants to learn about Celery. I in fact would have liked to learn more on advanced concepts in Celery and how to handle certain scenarios that come up in real time scenarios More on complex tasks scenarios where I would need to wait for a task for 30 min and then propagate results, rather than simple tasks

In step 17 when you created 'newapp' I had an issue with permissions removing it. It created a local dir with root permissions. Still trying to figure this out, if you could add a hint here that would be helpful.
