Aside from being an artist as long as I can remember I started offering a few tutorials on Youtube. Little did I know that by teaching people the fundamentals of art and anatomy i'd begin a new dimension to my career. Being a working freelance illustrator with a youtube channel is hard work, and I wouldn't change a thing. I steadily expanded my work from clients who needed branding to doing work on indie games and apps. i enjoy helping artists and non artist achieve that next level. The road to artistic expression and freedom is paved with hard work and dedication. There are setbacks and monsters to slay , but the rewards are great.

Good Introduction into animal cartooning. Although Rich (Insructor) says its part 2 he does repetition on basic drawing abilities at the beginning. You can like that or not. Overall good overview and about a basic level of animal cartooning with an additional worldbuilding mini course at the end! Big props for that! For some people this might be a bit too basic, buts if you´re starting out, this is a good place to get started! Real life animal anatomy is studied briefly aswell! Sometimes to me it is not clear what I am supposed to do though in later lectures. Follow along? Trace all of the animal references? I decided to do what felt best for me. One star minus for a bit of a lackluster guidance in the second half of the course.

Very good overview and detailed where needed. I think it's not only great for beginners but people who haven't taken an art class since grade 10, 30+ years ago.

Rich is a wonderful teacher. There are not many people that I would rate so early on as you can see if you take a gander at all my courses. But he is wonderful. I have taken a first glance all through the lessons of this course and am now going back to the beginning :). Love his style.

The instructor, Rich Graysonn, allows his students to recognize their ability to actually perform something that maybe they thought they'd never do....actually create cartoon characters by using their own skills! The fear of uncertainty keeps most people at bay from achieving many things in their lives...art is one of them. Rich's style of breaking down the complexities of taking dimensional subjects and actually "seeing" just how to build the skill sets to create them...from their own mind...is what makes his teachings so needed by anyone seeking out this discipline. Rich has a smooth presentation style of this material which puts the student at ease and allows them to recognize that this is an "obtainable" skill. But he CLEARLY lets it be known that you MUST invest of yourself to reap the benefits of this discipline. He also "allows" the student to recognize that life can "get in the way" at times...so it's ok to come back when you are ready. For someone to possess the skill of presenting teaching material that leaves the student wanting more ....and more importantly....wanting to continue their journey is RARE amongst teachers...Rich has this! For considering students in the future...you NEED this teaching...and you need someone that will guide you in such a way that you can actually see how to grasp it. Check Rich out!

Rich does a great job in this second part of his character drawing series about animals. His workflow and instruction style are very nice, mostly utilizing his drawings with various digital media while voicing over the instructions as he goes along. Obviously you do not need to have any sort of digital drawing devices to make great use of this course. The instructor goes over a LOT of material, and explains it all very well with lots of real-time examples as well, so you can get an even better grasp of the material.

Amazing course. Absolutely recommended for all those who think they can't draw, to change their perceptions of themselves and draw some cool cartoon animals.

This is a great course. I am already able to draw decent looking cartoon animal faces. Love the presentation as it speaks to everyone. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in having fun learning to draw, wanting to do children's book illistration, wanting to cartoon, and wanting to create cartoon type creatures for any purpose. Excellent course.

What I love about the courses Rich does is that he goes through everything one step at a time. He doesn't skip bits and he doesn't hide that mistakes are made and need to be corrected. You get to do a load of drawing and practicing. Every step along the way you build on top of what you have done before. If you want to learn to draw. If you want an instructor who is positive and wants to help you reach your maximum potential then you should give Rich a try.
