Course Description

Do you make your female characters always lifelike, sexy and perfect? Do they always come up pretty, with nice proportions and exactly as you wanted them? Then this course is NOT for you.

But if you don't feel quite at home when drawing or sculpting human anatomy, and more specifically - female anatomy, then you've come to the right place!

My name is Niko, and i am a 3D character artist for about 11 years now. I started studying anatomy 20 years ago but at some point I realized that female anatomy was my weak point so  I was searching for such course. Sadly there were almost none available. And although female and male muscles and bones are pretty much the same, the forms are pretty different. So now, after alot of studying and practice, i decided to do a female anatomy course myself and i am doing this course by real time sculpting in Zbrush, because i think the best way to explain anatomy is to sculpt it in 3D and view muscles and forms from all angles.

We will start this course by making the overall shape of a female head, and i will explain its forms and proportions. Then we will make the torso shape and i will explain its muscles and forms. Next we will make the legs, and we will talk about their forms and muscles too. Feet are pretty much ignored by most artists, but we will learn about them too . After that, we will jump to the muscles and bones of the arms, which are also pretty interesting, so make sure not to miss it!

Then we will make the basic form of the breasts, followed by hands and fingers. At this point, we will start detailing the face, where we will talk about proportions, sculpt, and draw all the face features, like nose, mouth, eyes, and as a bonus - the eyeballs.

We will continue with duplicating the head, and make a male head out of it. We will do the same with the torso, arms, legs, feet and hands, so we will have a separate male model for comparison.

Then it will be time to combine all the parts of the female body and refine some areas. We will add eyebrows and eyelashes, nails, and we will cover certain areas for a bit of a decency :). Last, we will learn how to paint human skin and makeup and also make hair for better presentation.

This course doesn't require previous knowledge of anatomy, although it could be useful. I would also like to thank the Anatomy 4 sculptors for letting me use images from their amazing book. I really think it is a must have for all artists interested in anatomy. Although this course will give you practical knowledge about muscles, forms and bones, I do recommend using this book to refresh your knowledge when necessary.

I have interest in arts since i was a very little kid. I was drawing all the time at school and at home. I was barely going out to play with the other kids, and later go to night clubs. Drawing and books were my passions. Later i became a Graphic Designer and then i was 3D character artist at Gameloft for 15 years. I have more than 10 years of experience with Zbrush, but now i use the amazing free software Blender and make courses and characters with its help.

The course was good, Still can be followed using blender, Most of the time except the zero mesh thing, Yeah i can retopo first but it will take long time, I think my model turn out ok, This is my redemption of it (Drop it before because I don't have graphic tablet).

This course is amazing! I'm not an artist myself, I don't have any talent related to art, but I decided that I wanted to learn 3D sculpting while using Blender, so I decided to take this course to better understand how a female body works. Boom! I followed along while doing my own female body sculpt and, at the end of the course I had a super beautiful female sculpted by my own hands, which to me was something super magical and interesting. I had no idea that I could do that. 10/10 course, highly recommended, it took me 15 days to complete it (I dind't do the male sculpt).

This course was immensely helpful in helping me learn anatomy and muscle placement. I made a character BEFORE this course and remade that same character while following along with the tutorials. She turned out immensely better. There is a huge difference between my work before learning what I learned in this course and what I am capable of now, so thank you!

"Touch yourself!!!" I am not sure Niko's humour is on the same level as his sculpting skills :D but the course for me was amazing. Everything that he does on screen is accompanied by an explanation of "WHY?" it looks the way it does, backed up by reference images, diagrams and other 3D sculpts that help you to understand the underlying structures and mechanisms of anatomy, which I might add, is a very design-ery approach and I like that a lot. What actually bothered me substantially is that a 13-hour long video taught me more about how to draw / sculpt correct anatomy than the years that I spent in a supposedly prestigious art school, where, I kid you not, even the muscle groups were never properly explained, nor the actual structural differences in the skeleton of a male and female. Overall, this course is highly recommended for artists of all kind and I would say especially for 2D artists, because even if you don't have ZBrush and do not sculpt with 3D software, just watching and learning from Niko's demonstrations, explanations and examples will be very helpful to upgrade your figure drawing skills to a higher level. Браво, Нико! Курсът ти беше по-полезен за мен по отношение на анатомията от 3 години Академия за изящни изкуства ... Поздрави!

This is the second course of his that I've taken. I am not a sculptor by any stretch of the imagination, but I do draw and have for years and years. Studying the anatomy in this way has helped me learn new ways of looking at things and taught me some stuff about certain anatomical parts that have plagued me for years. I'm even thinking of learning Zbrush from him now. This is a very good course and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. He also keeps the vibe humorous and fun.

I'm not very interested in 3D, I took the course because I wanted to improve my (2D) drawings, but having an understanding of 3D anatomy is helping me a lot with drawing -- and I think it's important for the 2D drawing artist master some 3D tool. I found the information very useful, and easily applied to Blender, which I intend to use as a reference for my drawings.

I finished this course for 2 weeks. A lot of useful information. I really fond of Nikolay and everything what he is doing. The course is marvelous. Honestly I regret that I haven't started learning 3D sculpting from Nikolay's courses and videos. He is a very nice teacher with incredile spirit and good sence of humor. He explains everything in details with simple words, and even your English is intermediate or pre-intermediate, you will understand everything. I've pumped my anatomy and 3D sculpting skills dramatically with this course. And his Youtube channel (which is free ofcourse) has a lot of useful information (not only for Zbrush users). Also Nikolay explains how to tune Zbrush which is very useful. I've used Zbrush about 6 month and his settings really helped me to speed up my working. Thanks a lot!

Im spending all day on pc watching tutorials, courses and making practice about zbrush, maya, substance and every other programs that i want to know also need to know because i want to be a good cg artist. Pretty sure about watched almost every tutorial about those programs, what i can say is u have to find a teacher that is teaching the way is right way for u! I guess this is the most important topic of choosing and taking the course and for sure u must know ur weaknesses. I mean this course topics and teacher is right for me to understand famale and also male anatomy enough to practice and knowing what im doin. Give him a change, im really sure u will understand is it good or bad for u. I have soo much fun, thanks for everything..

Highly recommended course if you want to learn to digitally sculpt realistic looking human characters. This was my first attempt at sculpting a human character and I was amazed at how good the results were under Nickolay's guidance! A few things are worth noting- this course is about sculpting human anatomy, and is not a course telling you how to use ZBrush. Nickolay will do stuff, and you might be able to see what brush or menus he is using, but not always. So you need to already know how to use ZBrush to at least beginner's level. However this also means you can use any other 3D sculpting package to do this course, such as the sculpting facilities in Blender. Overall very happy and will move on to Nickolay's intermediate course on Female Character Creation and the ZBrush-Blender-Substance Painter pipeline course too.

Niko's course on female anatomy was excellent. His focus on forms over surface details was spot on. Coming from an artistic background with some anatomy under my belt already, I was pleasantly surprised to be learning new things at every turn. All of it was very well explained and some of the best teaching I have experienced. Also, the portion on male anatomy was a great thing to learn and was very much appreciated. The fact that he covered the gender differences from the skeleton to the muscles made a huge difference, as well as the practical differences in approach when it comes to male and female characters. I will be watching eagerly for the next course as I have no doubt I will learn a ton from that one too!
