What you will learn
- How Rust can help you keep your memory access safe and effective
- How we can use Rust to build Generic Algorithms that we can use again and again across our codebase
- Greedy, dynamic, and Iterative algorithms and when to use them
- Different data structures such as Maps, Trees, and Linked lists, and when it is appropriate to use them.
- Why and how an Entity Component System separates the different parts of the object into different storage areas
- How we can build files that work like simple databases using BTrees
- How we can run our programs even faster-using Multithreading

Course Description
Rust is a modern systems programming language designed with safety to simplify the development of large, complex software projects. Data structure and Algorithms are key to help in the collection and organization of the data for performing operations on the data and set instructions/logic to accomplish tasks in these projects. This course will be your guide for implementing classic data structures and algorithms in Rust, helping you to get up and running as a confident Rust programmer.
You will begin with a primer to Rust and its syntax. You will then explore the language of Time and Memory complexity by comparing different sorting methods. You’ll then learn about Lists and Binary Trees, implement them, and compare them, to show the advantages and use cases of each. Next, you will cover different algorithms in-depth such as sorting, graph, dynamic programming, greedy, divide and conquer, and more. You will learn how counterintuitive techniques can actually make it easier to build scalable projects!
By the end of the course, you will have a sound knowledge of the key data structures and algorithms in Rust to confidently implement them in your applications.
About the Author
Matthew Stoodley is a programming expert and enthusiast, who was drawn to learn about Rust and master its features initially due to its low power usage and memory safety capabilities. He primarily uses Rust to build board games.
In addition, he also possesses several years of experience in Go, PHP, and JavaScript.

This tutorial is a great review of Rust by Example and Rust Book, and it serves as a solid continuation into data structures and algorithms (DSA). I recommend that everyone complete Rust by Example and at least two mini-projects from the Rust Book before diving into this.

Okay, i see people complaining about this course that it is very difficult to follow along. That is because this course will not teach you basic rust syntax, they expect you to know to before your start this course. This is all about pure DSA in rust. I'd recommend to follow the free courses on rust syntax first in YouTube, then start with this course

This isn't really what I expected. The presenter is not really teaching anything. It's more like you're just watching him code up stuff in rust. Along the way, he doesn't teach you about the algorithms or about the rust, except at a very superficial perspective. For example, he'll say, "this is needed in rust" but not why. This course could use a lot more illustrations, explanations, etc.

Explained some of the basics I was struggling with when I was trying to learn Rust Alone. Especially the #[derive(Debug)] usage .

Pros: good cadence, nicely formatted course, nice to hear an explanation of an implementation. Cons: Data Structures are not described, just how to implement them. The code could be updated as Rust has matured. Data Structures are not always the cleanest solution like you may see on GitHub at TheAlgorithms/Rust. Sometimes it is difficult to follow explanations and takes several listens. Recommend not coding along with the videos, and just reviewing what is done.

Really easy to follow through and explains Rust concepts really well. Recommended especially for people who want to get into systems programming with Rust

Having a background in programming I must say it's really comprehensive so far and also easy to understand. Concepts are really well explained and there is a lot of practice.

Thanks for putting this course together. I've gone through some rust training before, and am starting a second round and this is the perfect course.
By Dexter Bradshaw on 9/28/2020
Useful, comprehensive course on elementary data structures using Rust. However, doing this course in this step-by-step incremental fashion also helps me improves my Rust programming and assists in learning some of the more arcane features of the language. For example, I never knew about labeling lifetimes until I did this course.

i'm impressed! - not only did i learn Rust but, i also learned about topics i'd been skipping like "Tail Recursion", "Stack vs Heap" - the lecturer gives the best possible presentation: fast live coding with Vim !
