I wouldn't say that this tutorial is the best for complete gms2 beginners, but if you have some background knowledge in gms2 then... this is a good refresher on certain aspects of coding. Thank you for your tutorial series!

It was a very good easy/medium level course.

This probably isn't my favorite course of his as it moves VERY fast, especially if you're a beginner. On the other hand, there's a lot of good information here. Check out his Crafting Game tutorial first as I think it gives some better beginner information that is kind of assumed you know in this tutorial.

I've been learning game development for a few months now. This course has a lot of good information in it but it goes lightning quick through it. Gurpreet knows what he's doing but he doesn't explain enough. He mostly gives a quick single sentence explanation of a line of code or a set of lines, but he doesn't elaborate, or go into depth about why or give enough context and reasoning so it makes it difficult to understand. Without fulling comprehending what I'm typing out I didn't feel like I was truly grasping the code.
Much of the code is easy to understand though, and I do feel like I got a good basic feel for all the rudimentary aspects of a platformer. I respect this style of learning, though it wasn't completely for me.

The instructor goes too fast, is not easy to understand what he's saying, and skips ahead without any consideration on what he's teaching. Terrible and not recommended at all.

By Armando Alonso on 6/25/2019

This guys is going way to fast, you have to pause every 20 seconds to figure out what he's doing.

By Nathan Mesch on 6/17/2019

It's very fast but that is my only complaint as most of the time it is very informative about how not only to make the game but of how GameMaker Studio 2 works too!!

By Sam Crossland on 5/17/2019

I love Gurpreet! his videos are concise and easy to understand. I feel like I accomplish a lot with his classes.

By Ahmad Alduweesh on 4/22/2019

If you want only the code to create a platformer game then take it. But if you want to understand the concepts then don't. For an introductory course on game programing i really don't recommend this course. There were few to no explanation at all to the functions and the code he uses. And in many occasions the instructor accent makes it hard to understand what he is saying.
