Course Description
Your Journey Starts Now
You've made an excellent choice. The road to web development, among other disciplines, begins with HTML. HTML, or Hyper Text Markup Language, is a building block to developing effective web pages. Before the additional layers of web development are implemented (CSS, JavaScript, etc.) HTML informs the web browser of the structure of the page and content to display to the visitors of the page.
Why HTML
Without HTML, the web browsers such as Chrome, IE, FireFox and Safari, wouldn't know what to do and how to present your content to the viewer. Search Engines, like Google, rely on HTML to index a page in their search results. By using HTML properly you will not only inform the search engines of the importance of your content but you also inform the browser and the viewers of your page.

So far, I have really really really enjoyed the course. I am learning a lot. I did pause for a few days because I had other courses to finish, and of course work and family responsibilities, but now I’m getting back to it. I hope to finish it either today or tomorrow. I’m really glad I found this course because it is helping me understand HTML much better. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Also, I want to say thank you. Sometimes your comments are funny because I can relate to them, hahhahah : If I don't get a list, I'm calling her up down the aisles like I can't remember what I'm looking for. Send me a list. ----------------------------------------------------- your explanation and videos make learning easier and I'm wondering if you happen to have one about JavaScript.

(1) does not use more widely used tools like vs code that web devs would use (2) uses word to show what table looks instead of using html to do so (3) uses some drawing tool over ms word table to introduce table, tr, td (*) when it comes to organization, presentation, etc - it's one of the worst

Overall fantastic foundational course in HTML. Kyle is clear and direct in his teaching, and gives info in easily accessible bite size nuggets to make steady progress but not overwhelm or confuse. Wish he had more courses to supplement this one, CSS would be a great next step.

Hello Kyle! I really enjoyed learning basics of HTML through this Course. You have designed this course in a very student friendly way. Your way of explaining concepts is really very good and learner friendly. Looking forward to learn CSS & JavaScript from you.

This was a great intro course. I came in with very little knowledge of HTML, and by following along with the examples in the lecture, I now have the confidence to read and tweak HTML. I feel like I could even toss together a little basic page of my own! The little tastes of CSS Kyle gives you throughout the course are great as well. I'm looking forward to diving in and learning some more advanced things!

This was a very good introduction to HTML, took things slowly ang built up gradually to quite complex structures. Always a pleasure to listed to Lyle's delivery with humour and patience. repetitioni is good but Kyle sometimes overdoes it a bit and delivery is a little slower than it needs to be, however I realise some students will be first time users, so it is great for them Best wishes Edwin

This course was difficult because I just did not know what I was doing, I lost many html could not recover them did not know how to recover them, so I improvised and finally I got back on track and I continued to follow and learn yes, this course was difficult, but like always you the teacher always do a great job, and like always I learned something, may not been what you were teaching ----but I learned not to give up, this course caused some pain but I know it will do some good in the future.
