Course Description
Are you tired of picking the right JS library from a vast sea of libraries? And do you sometimes feel like frontend JavaScript development & code became unnecessarily complex?
HTMX might just be the right solution for you!
Because HTMX is an amazing JavaScript library that helps you avoid writing client-side JavaScript code!
It's a library that extends HTML by adding new attributes which you can use to add & control element behavior. Specifically, HTMX is a library that simplifies the process of sending AJAX requests and updating the DOM based on the response.
But you'll learn all about the core HTMX features as well as advanced HTMX concepts you need to know in detail in this course!
HTMX is a such an amazing library that allows you to write efficient client-side code that I simply had to create a course on it - even though I originally didn't plan to do that!
Therefore, in this course, I'll walk you through all core HTMX concepts step-by-step, without any prior HTMX knowledge assumed!
In detail, you'll learn:
What HTMX is & how it works
How to add HTMX to a website
How to use HTMX for sending AJAX HTTP requests
How to control request data
How to control where the response will be rendered
How to control which part of the response will be rendered
How to handle responses with multiple content elements
How to configure requests & responses
How to build single-page-applications (SPAs) with HTMX
And much, much more!
And you'll learn all that by working on multiple demo projects which allow you to dive deeper and deeper into HTMX.
Therefore, by the end of the course, you'll be able to add HTMX to your next web projects and reap its benefits!

Great introductory course into HTMX that goes deeper when needed. All the project applications were well curated to highlight certain features the author was trying to teach. You know it's a good course when after finishing it, you're eager to get out there and build. How many courses have you done that gives you this feeling?

Fantastic course! Extremely well made course. Great guide to what is possible with HTMX and how to work with it. I learned a ton. I am actually working with Python & Flask/Jinja2 (instead of JavaScript and Node.js), and I needed to to learn HTMX. (I did not have any experience using JavaScript.) I had no problem applying what I learned in this course to Flask/Python. The teaching is clear, step by step, very easy to follow. Maximilian, the teacher, is great, he keeps things moving with an appropriately unhurried pace and explains every step very clearly. Somehow, he manages to end many of the lessons with a "cliffhanger", so I could not wait to get to the next lesson to learn more. Very well made course. Super fun! Like I said fantastic course! I highly recommend it to anyone who is curious about HTMX. Thank you!

Very good course, well organized and well presented. Moreover, teaches some about express.js which is a good side-effect, in my opinion, for an overall minimal but powerful server-side rendered web apps. A practical Guide indeed! Would like to see a little bit more about security on this new paradigm on web apps and a cloud database connection, e.g. firestore, but still a very good course.

Very well done for a entry level course on htmx, which is exactly what I was looking for. It helps that this is one of the few up to date tutorials on Udemy. Have been very frustrated with "highly rated" courses that are years out of date. Max' style of teaching and explaining concepts and providing code samples to help understand the topics is very engaging and effective. Thanks for the course!

Every essential bit of HTMX covered - and even more - in a very reasonably long course. Max as a teacher always doing very well explaining the concepts. Some are complaining about the choice of the NodeJS' Express framework as the backend technology, but: 1. Some technology had to be chosen, and you can't make everyone happy (though you can use whatever backend you want). 2. I think the choice was good - allowed to keep it simple, and you can even learn basics of Express - treat it as a nice freebie.

Excellent introduction to HTMX. I've taken numerous courses from Max, and the quality has always been of a very high standard—this course is no exception. While it’s shorter than some of Max’s other courses, the material covered feels appropriate and well-paced.

As usual, Maximillian, explains everything with a clear voice and understandable language. Nice examples used to illustrate what can be achieved with htmx. But after the final roundup, the feeling is that there is still quite some more functionality with htmx not covered in this course yet to be discovered on your own. Also, all examples in this course are based on a node.js back-end. It would have been nice to understand if htmx can be used for a client side-only application.

Generally liked the course. However, the reason I wish to learn to use HTMX is specifically to avoid using Javascript as much as possible. I understand teaching HTMX naturally requires a server-side language of some kind, but given that people are flocking to HTMX precisely to minimize or remove Javascript from their development stacks, it might have been better to use Python, Go, etc. rather Javascript as the language to demonstrate HTMX's server-side actions and requirements. It would also have been helpful to have had sequence diagrams to illustrate HTMX client-server and SPA calls.

I wanna see more advance. For example how to use sockets or or how better destructe your folder. I still can't find the best practice how to order folders. The traditions way with routes and just partials. I feel it is not the best way. I think to use apis with each template. ├── views/ │ ├── layouts/ │ ├── pages/ │ │ ├── index.ejs │ │ └── details.ejs │ └── partials/ │ └── headers/ │ ├── login-modal.ejs │ └── register-modal.ejs ├── public/ │ ├── js/ │ │ ├── index.js │ │ ├── details.js │ │ ├── login-modal.js │ │ └── register-modal.js │ ├── css/ │ └── images/ ├── routes/ │ ├── index.js │ ├── details.js │ ├── login.js │ └── register.js └── controllers/ ├── pageController.js ├── loginController.js └── registerController.js so request get login-modal component like this GET /partials/header/login-modal Request for post login in the modal POST /partials/header/login-modal, {}

Good introduction, good coverage of the features you will need to build a typical app MPA/SPA. Like may courses it can have a "what now?" conclusion and I would say that perhaps where the course finishes currently would have been the ideal part to shift up a gear an perhaps do a full project end-to-end. This would take the running time up as well as the course support and maintenance up as well but it would likely be the key to the 5th star in many reviews the course will end up attracting. I enjoyed it, I would say the pre-prepared code will likely lose some beginners rather than stepping through it end-to-end as they will have to with their own projects. Worth the 4 stars easily, would have liked a little more for that 5th star but having got the course on the intro price it was good value for the few hours it took to complete.
