I am really happy after finishing this course. This was what I was searching for a long time. Now I have a very clear vision about multithreading and will definitely use those in my live application to solve some of the crucial problems. Thank you very much, Udemy and John.

Absolutely one of the best courses a Java programmer can find in Udemy. Mr. Purcell masters the materials he teaches, and he rarely gets confused or stuck. In addition the lectures are well structured and ordered, so one gets a 'natural flow' from one lecture to the following one. It should be mentioned that the course is a bit 'old', dealing with Java 7, and things might be improved over the years (I know because I've checked it), but the foundations one gets by following this course can, undoubtedly, make any further Threads learning much easier.

This course is a good overview of the fundamentals of Java multi threading. Used it to review for an interview. It was FREE, so why not. 4.5/5.0 STARS! 0.5 off because I feel the instructor could explain things a little better. However, you can find videos on this subject on YouTube. Always look on YouTube FIRST before buying a course off Udemy, if it's not free.

This course has an excellent sequence of topics that are so well arranged and expressed. Based on my experience till now, this tutorial is the simplest and yet the best one. However, I hope to get the advanced and deeper topics also in the remaining videos. The instructor has intelligently planned the flow to explain each topic, which I feel is the strongest point of this course.

Not only John knows his stuff very well, he explains it clearly too. What I like the most is his use of examples; they are short, concise and demonstrate the core concepts really well. This course deserves 5 stars easily but I'm deducting one because it doesn't cover Fork-Join Pool, Phaser and a few more synchronizers.

Before I took this class I didn't know anything about multi-threading in Java, however, I was aware of the issues faced in multi-threading on a conceptual level. This class offered a comprehensive review for all the tools, techniques and major pitfalls a developer can face in Java. It is a great crash-course to get you started with multi-threading or for reviewing for an interview!

The presenter is easy to understand and has knowledge of the material. He is explaining step by step, what he is doing. Every time he starts with blank project, so it is easy to understand the examples presented, as they are not so complicated and related with previous tutorials. I thought, that there will be also proposed to do some exercises during the course, but it was not.

I watched some YouTube videos from this instructor and decided to take this course. It is suitable for me because I will need multi-threading for android app development. I will add more when I finish the course. Finished Course Update: I learned a lot about not just multi threading but some other intermediate Java topics. John is one of the best online instructors I have learned from. He really takes the time to properly explain and demonstrate his code, what the code does and does not do.

This is getting better and better... Even though I didn't get a detailed explanation in a couple tutorials, and I had to google some topics, this is still a fine tutorial to get a good hind of multi-threading in Java. Thanks again... Actually I did googled everything in order to have a good idea over every topic...

This is simply the best tutorial out there on this topic in my opinion. I used it partly to prepare for the OCP 7 Upgrade exam which I passed with flying colours. A lot of care had obviously gone into the making of this tutorial and the presenter's voice was clear while the content clearly defined and well thought out. The examples worked 'out of the box' in my experience. I can't thank John enough as without this course I might not have passed the exam and found gainful employment.
