After my internship was up, I was hired on to build backgrounds and to design props and characters for animation projects. I then began to do my own freelance work on the side through networking and using online freelancing sites. Now I work as a freelance Illustrator and designer working on my own time from where ever I want.

I enjoyed this course a lot. I am familiar with Photoshop, but not so much with digital painting and I was impressed, how one can create good looking assets already without having to paint too much. I thought the procress would be more complex, so I am happily surprised. We painted more things by hand, the more we progressed in the class and I learned a lot! Especially the small tips, like what shadow colours to add in wood and gold were very valuable for me. Thank you, Jaysen. :)

A very nice course, though I wouldn't say it is for complete beginners. Some knowledge of drawing will help. (linework, mostly). Otherwise totally recommend!

While the instructor is explaining some good thechniques it's pretty often unclear what he's doing on hi's screen, for example which layer exactly is he selecting (because none of the layers have meaningful names) etc...

Jason is a great instructor, I find all his videos extremely useful. But moreover, I am null at Ps, so having him covering the basics of this software before jumping into 2D design is a blessing. Great tutorial series.
