Learn SQL for Data Analysis with Google Big Query (Udemy.com)

This course served as a great refresher for SQL, highlighting how its capabilities extend beyond just Google BigQuery. I appreciated the concise lessons on each topic, especially the step-by-step walk throughs that allowed for hands-on practice. Having already worked with Data Studio, this course helped me see how BigQuery can be effectively integrated with Data Studio to enhance its power and functionality.

Overall, I think this is great course for someone with a SQL background who is unfamiliar with the interface of BigQuery. The intro videos helped me tremendously with getting acquainted with BigQuery. The remaining videos are concise and cover basic SQL syntax. Since they are to the point, I don't think this course is ideal for someone without a background in SQL.

The only issue I had in the sandbox was that the bigquery-public-data project would not appear. I selected +Add Data then Explore Public Datasets, searched for "cycle," selected London Bicycle Hires, then View Dataset. I also tried this with other public datasets and still no luck in the sandbox. This did not populate the bigquery-public-data project on the left menu of the screen and I was unable to manually search for this project either. Therefore, I was unable to follow along in the sandbox.

Annabel does an excellent job at explaining the basic functionality and syntax of Google Big Query. As a beginner in SQL and Big Query, I found that the course gave me a solid foundation of the most commonly used functions that I can now try out for myself with my own data. It's a great refresher for SQL (which can be leveraged beyond Google Big Query). I liked the short lessons for each topic with a walk-through (which helped in parallel hands-on). Since I have already explored Data Studio, this course helped me in combining the power of BigQuery with Data Studio.

I have been long waiting to learn SQL but was apprehensive as I didnt have any background in coding. But this lecture series is so detailed and hits the very basics through which one can learn SQL at ease. I am glad i opted for this course.

+ Good course, good introduction to big query and SQL + Good starter - Throwing exercises and saying "just go to Q&A" is a bit easy - A bit overselling on the "write complex queries", this should be more fairly marketed as an introductory course. - Big query is only here as an easy setup for SQL querying, and if data export is covered, data import isn't

Whole course is Average even for beginners. Some more topics could have been covered in this session like creating tables using different methods such as using existing query and storing the table in temporary table, how to create and use temporary tables in BigQuery etc. I hope if there is any plan to update the course then above topics would also be covered in that update. After that this could be a whole lot better course for beginners.

Good introductory course that just scratches the very top surface. I wish there was more content because it was helpful. In comparison to some other courses I've purchased, it's overpriced. I've spent the same amount on other large courses and they easily have 10 times the content and are updating it regularly. That's not to say this course is bad, just wish it had more content to offer because it was good. I'm hopeful the author produces more content and releases some new sections.

My first contact with Big Query (SQL). The lessons are short and on point, very easy to understand! I would say that 95% of the questions I had during the course were clarified. I would like to learn the next steps. BigQueryML would be awesome!
