Course Description

There are five (almost six) graphs that changed the way I see our culture and how our ideas spread:

  • Rogers' Diffusion of Innovations

  • Moore's Crossing the Chasm

  • The Gartner Hype Cycle

  • Anderson's The Long Tail

  • My take on The Tip

  • and Trout and Ries' work on Positioning

Each of these graphs leads to an a-ha, a chance to do better work and to cause the change we seek to make.

Often, though, we get stuck. Stuck because it's easy to nod and say we 'get it' but the picture might get in the way of our understanding.

This 28 minute course will make it easier to find the wisdom.

It also comes with a extra 9 minute rant on the Ideavirus. Along with a link on how to get your copy for free.

The first 12 modules were excellent as per usual for anything Seth creates. The bonus module 12 continually stopped to the point it was virtually unwatchable. There must be something wrong with the streaming.

For creatives, entrepreneurs and people who want to do work that matters...there are few better ways to spend an hour of your time. I left this course feeling recharged for the project I'm working on and excited to figure out better ways to serve my own niche audience in the long tail. Great stuff.

By Jonathan Titus on 1/5/2024

Seth helps me carve out the time to consider the important things I may not have been paying as close attention to as I thought. This course is exactly what I'd hoped it would be and it's teaching me exactly what I'd hoped it would help me understand better.

Seth helps us bring together a number of complex topics, including technology adopt, overcoming the dip, the long tail, and positioning our offering, to name a few. He delivers, as always, and I'm grateful for the throwback to The Ideavirus at the end.

Seth Godin has a way of delivering complex ideas in a very enjoyable way. Whether you are selling a product or an experience, this short course offers great visualization of how trends develop, how longevity and relevance are built and how to choose the better path for what one is offering.

Easy to understand presentation style, reinforcement of some known material, and some new material. In particular, I appreciated the clarity Seth brought to The Gartner Hype Cycle, The Long Tail, and Positioning by Trout/Ries. An excellent short course that I highly recommend.

What we measure and how we measure are both important. Data w/o context, though, are just numbers. This is a great overview about how to make numbers and data matter. Seth uses his great teaching style and relevant, easy to relate to examples to demonstrate how context + data tell a story.

This was brilliant. This course is for anyone thinking of starting a side hustle, new business or project. I’m thrilled I came across this. What a way to start the year. Rich, heavy concepts explained thoroughly and SIMPLY in 30 minutes! Next- Seth Godin should do a course on how to make courses! He’s a master!

By Carlo Tortora on 1/1/2024

Seth Godin is always over-inspiring. The lecture on how the innovation/adoption bell curve has changed since 1955 to recent times is giving us the practical explanation why we have to look at small groups to be achieved if we want to really trasmit our message/purpose: there is more weird outside the box than normal inside it

By Lilian Mahoukou on 1/1/2024

This course is insightful, practical, and another masterpiece. It's done for actively using it in our endeavors. On our way to building a resilient path, considering different perspectives matters. In a society that promotes shortcuts and any other forms of instant gratification, Seth Godin encourages us to see things differently, adopt the right attitude, and start from the right perspective.
