This new course provides you the needed training for building new data types, handling events, accessing a database, using remote data, integrating with unmanaged code, as well as the knowledge and skills to perform operations asyncrhonously, creating custom attributes and more.
This course brings together all the features of programming in C# using Visual Studio.
Some of the skills you will learn in this class are:
Describe the core syntax and features of C#
Implement the basic structure and essential elements of a typical desktop application
Encrypt and decrypt data by using symmetric and asymmetric encryption
Examine the metadata of types by using reflection, create and use custom attributes, generate code at runtime and manage assembly versions
Integrate unmanaged libraries and dynamic components into a C# application
Improve the throughput and response time of applications by using tasks and asynchronous operations
Build a graphical user interface by using XAML
Use the types in the System.Net namespace and WCF Data Services to access and query remote data
Create and use an entity data model for accessing a database and use LINQ to query and update data
Read and write data by using file input/output and streams and serialize/deserialize data in different formats
Use inheritance to create a class hierarchy, extend a .NET Framework class and create generic classes and methods
Create classes, define and implement interfaces and create and use generic collections
Create and call methods, catch/handle exceptions and describe the monitoring requirements of large applications

Good information. Good review of the basics. I don't really care to be watching speaker making errors on the recorded video. Mistyping things and spending time on trying to figure out what went wrong. I would expect the instructor to re -record those parts and splice them into the total course video. I don't expect the instructor to be perfect but it really annoying to watch him try to figure out what happened when something did not work the way he anticipated.

Entertaining, funny with much knowledge in depths. Amazing first part of the course. Highly recommended.

Several unprofessional moments using the f word several times near the end of the course, this should have been edited out! This course is a little outdated, it doesn't cover current language constructs that will be on the exam. No source code is provided to follow along with and/or test out yourself. You can't even read the code on the slides and the code is not provided. There is this circle with "I Go Here If Possible" obscuring the slides, what is the purpose of it? Nothing happens if you click on it. As far as C# content, it does cover the basics and some advance features. It is a good introduction to programming in C#.

I'm halfway through part 1 of this course. I have to say, I've never taken a course like this. It's hard to believe it even exists. It is so incredibly exhaustive (in a good way). I feel this course is exactly what I need to help me pass the certification exam. The instructor presents the information in exactly the way that I can best understand it. He explains the reasons behind things. The bottom line is that I'm thrilled to be taking this course. Having said the above, I will say that this is not the course you should take to quickly get started with C#. This is for someone who a) wants to know the full scope of C# and/or b) wants to pass the certification exam.

This is easily the most in depth C# course I've taken on Udemy or Pluralsight. I really appreciate the way the instructor dives into and behind what is happening with many of the C# keywords. My only criticism concerns the editing. There are far too many individual videos which often break the flow of a topic. There are also editing errors, like on screen images that shouldn't be present but are, duplicate videos, etc. These are annoyances, but don't prevent this from being a great, instructive course.

I'm currently 3 modules in. Module 1 was particularly insightful, as it provided a good understanding of NET. itself. Definitely recommend (especially while on offer!). A few things to note, however: - FIRSTLY: Be warned, you will have to contact Customer Support in order to the "free access to Part 2" - I was a bit disappointed that this required me to action and that the course instructor has been silent when it comes to requests from other students seeking access to Part 2. - Many of the lectures are a minute or less in length and very rarely exceed 4 minutes. This leads to many awkward 5 second gaps between the lectures. I honestly feel that the instructor has spread subjects thinly between lectures in order to gain a higher number of lectures on record. This makes me sad as I feel a little mislead by an otherwise knowledegable and respectible instructor. I truly believe lumping lectures together instead of presenting many small parts of only a minute or so would have worked to his credit. - Many of the coding walkthroughs feel a little rushed and the instructor often makes mistakes with spelling / setup. I'd expect a competent lecturer to re-record or suitably edit out these errors, as they serve no learning purpose. - There are a few subjects where I think the instructor tries to be too concise and covers too much ground in a short space of time which, while he gets information crammed in, will likely confuse less experienced developers. I found that I've come away with a little knowledge of a lot of things, but I feel the instructor had much more to offer. Overall ====== TL;DR: If you're taking the exam or just want to enhance your knowledge of .NET , buy it :) (but probably only when it's on promotion) More wordy conclusion: As a learning material for the 70-483 exam, I'm not sure you'll pass with this alone. At the full asking price, I think the lecturer tries to get through content too quickly rather than delivering your monies worth. But, while on promotion, there is certainly a lot of reference knowledge here and it will make a great addition to your learning materials :) I'm sure I'd rather have seen two separately paid courses which both went into more detail and weren't so quickly moving. Based on what I've seen so far, I'm also going to purchase 70-484 and 70-485 from this lecturer at the discounted rate. I'll leave feedback for those also.

The class is very informative and the scope of the lectures are very good. I feel the pacing is done well and the instructors knowledge and enthusiasm come through well. My gripe is that I am an active learner, It's difficult for me to fully grasp a something without building, manipulating and ultimately breaking something. Initially I attempted to build along with the lectures, but by the time we hit the interfaces the lectures no longer displayed code for all the classes referenced. As a reference, something in the tool box to reference the course is fine. But for the concepts I still struggle with, I'll need to find additional sources to build the information from.

This course has enlightened me on so many subjects that I will be much more confident when taking the 70-483 exam. This length of the course might make it unattractive for some, but if you want to gain deeper knowledge about subjects that are only briefly, or just very badly explained in f.i the exam ref book, this course is a must watch. I have struggled with the exam before, and just through the cheer length and depth of this course, I feel so much better prepared to retake the exam. The price of the course in no way reflects the effort that went into producing such a comprehensive course. If you can look passed a few videos that actually contain another video (therefore having both some duplicate and some missing videos), the quirkyness of the instructor, and some parts of videos that accidently still contain parts that should've been cut out, and only contain the retakes, this course is of immense value when studying for the exam, or just if you're really, really interest in C# .NET. Thanks a lot Bryan, I feel a lot more confident in retaking the exam.

While this course explains concepts with quite a bit of detail, I've realized that this course can't take someone who doesn't have a strong foundation in C# (basically ground zero) and prepare them for the 70-483 exam. The instructor glances over code examples and most of the time in order to truly understand the examples, I have to pause the video, re-create the code, and fool around with the code examples. My method worked for a while, but sometimes the code examples aren't completely shown in videos or are glanced over so fast that you have to watch the video repeatedly to catch them. I do love how the videos are broken up into manageable chunks since there is quite a lot of material and the author tells jokes and stuff to keep you engaged, but after a while, it gets obvious that unless you truly understand the concept and just need to "refresh your memory" , then these videos won't be of much value to you. There are also parts where the videos "repeat themselves" (maybe an editing issue). Overall, I did learn quite a bit from the course so far that I didn't know prior to taking the course. I would recommend that you find another course to truly ground yourself in the concepts of C# before going through this course (which I realized the instructor mentioned knowing the basics of C# in the course requirements).

Really well done course. I powered through this starting on like Tuesday (It is now Friday) watching it at 2x and stopping to research on my own as to get better acquainted with some of the concepts like delegates. I am not sure if it's the lack of sleep, but their course jokes grew on me... even the whole "I don't feel safe with these graphic tiles over me" gag. That or I am a complete effing nerd.
