If you're literate with VBA Excel, you will notice similar concepts in Access. Excel deals with the application, workbook, worksheet, and cells. With Access, you're dealing with SQL (database concepts, obviously) and there is a heavily utilization of form events and objects. Bruce does a great job exposing you to different tips and tricks that will help YOU become an artist in crafting your MS Access database. I can see how I can use my Excel VBA subs and functions into simplifying the code used in MS Access VBA.

For me, as a non-programmer, learning about the programming techniques in this course was good, but I think it would be better if Bruce spent more time explaining the commands and structure of the modules, subroutines, etc, and less time explaining the keyboard shortcuts. For instance, he doesn't have to keep repeating "press Alt F11 to go back" every single time.

I like the teaching style, I don't understand why some of the code is why it is. Maybe that is my issue and not the teaching issue but I am not understanding the why's of why some of the code is written in. I do plan on going back over it multiple times, maybe it will click.

This is a bit confusing especially having not had any experience with VBA. While the explanation(s) are very good the references to Key numbers seems to be assumed the user would know these?

I need to go back through this a few times to try to really understand it but I felt it would have been helpful to have more explanation on the front end of the different terms and how they are used. Maybe I just missed it but it seemed like we jumped in and it was a bit confusing.

I took an introductory course in Visual Basic in College years ago and wanted to know how to apply VBA with the Access Database application. This course is exactly what I was looking for. This course covers some advanced topics of Visual Basic, so I'm finding that I need to review each topic more than once or twice. Pausing the video, though, is sometimes problematic. I sometimes need to click on the pause button more than once for it to to work and then I I lose the sound.

I'm having to stop the presentation to try and resize and navigate to the form or object to repeat the demonstration. I'm having to go back and review and retry some things. Presentation goes pretty fast when changing to a different form or property sheet. Always fee a touch behing. Nice being able to pause and review though.

This is an amazing course. Great content, neatly organised. It teaches you plenty, really useful stuff. Well explained, don't expect to be spoon fed though. The wrap-ups after each section (both video and text) are priceless, moreover after some not-so-easy topics. In sum, I can't imagine a better way to learn VBA in Access. Thanks!
