Sharing is who I am, and teaching is where I am at my best, because I've been on both sides of that equation, and getting to deliver useful training is my meaningful way to be a part of the creative community.
I've spent a long time watching others learn, and teach, to refine how I work with you to be efficient, useful and, most importantly, memorable. I want you to carry what I've shown you into a bright future.
I have a wife (a lovely Irish girl) and kids. I have lived and worked in many places (as Kiwis tend to do) – but most of my 14+ years of creating and teaching has had one overriding theme: bringing others along for the ride as we all try to change the world with our stories, our labours of love and our art.
I'm a certified Adobe instructor (ACI) in Ireland. I'm also an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) and have completed the Adobe Certified Associate training (ACA). And I don't just do Adobe. Remember, media is a very broad term – digital blew out the borders, so we are all constantly learning.
I've been teaching for 14+ years. I come from being a media designer and content creator – so I understand exactly where you're at now. I've been there. I love this stuff. Print, digital publishing, web and video. I can see how it all connects. And I can see how we can share those connections.

I've enjoyed working practically on documents using word how various features of microsoft word is used in real life document. I don't like mail merge and interactive form section content is very less and don't go into depth of it. This course is just getting a overview of microsoft word and how to get your documents design properly

I have taken many Adobe Creative Suite courses from Daniel Walter Scott and he is a fantastic teacher. His course outlines are always clear, concise and he is really funny. Even if you know the programs, you end up learning more. Thanks for another great course!

I have done around 6 or 7 courses from Daniel now (I have 2 Udemy accounts - 1 business and 1 personal) and they have all been epic. There is no wonder that he is has become such a success! This course is great. His Adobe courses are even better. Big love!

I'm an Adobe Designer but needed to do a Word course because I create Word templates for everyone at work. TBH I'm not a fan of anything Microsoft (it is the devil's work), so as I've been on courses with Dan before, I knew that I could depend on him to teach me Word quickly, without me getting bored. In fact, I was inspired and found myself looking forward to using Word at work so that I could implement my learning! Much to my Manager's disbelief (knowing my disdain for Microsoft) I now want to do Dan's Excel course! Thank you Dan!

Brilliant! Every lesson is short, to the point and teaches a useful skill. Instructor is very easy to listen to, and explains each concept very clearly. Bonus points for appropriately naming each lesson - makes it very easy to find the bits you need to revisit. I've been using word a long time and picked up enough new ideas to make this course really good value. Kudos.

I recently lost my job with a company that formatted documents with their own propriety software. I knew that I would need to learn more about MS Office software to be able to get a new job. This course has been very helpful for teaching me a lot more features than what I had used on my own at home for personal projects. Thank You!

Dan you've done it again!!!! I have, for years, struggled and muddled my way through Word and always used it with a sense of dread!!! But no more - everything is crystal clear and it all makes sense now!!! I love your teaching style [I am an educator as well]. Thank you

I took this course to refresh my Word skills and I learned so many quick tips and techniques to make my work much cleaner, crisper and easier for editing than I'd previously known. Well worth my time and I look forward to using some of my new knowledge.

I've been using text editors (or word processor) when Wordstar and Word Perfect were still king and even with the 30+ years working with text editors I still learned new things. I also learned what not to do. I'm oldschool, I used Word like a typewriter - the course showed me how to get rid of the bad habits that I have. I have many of them, but at least I didn't use spacebar for extra white space. I'm also starting to be more accepting about using Word for layout purposes on small projects. It used to be a big NO for me, but I can see the benefits of nicely formatted Word documents. Great course, highly recommended! Cheers, Fran

Great short course. I'm wondering if a longer Word course could be coming? I suspect the program has many more features. As much as I love to hate Word (old enough to remember the old corel wordperfect fondly), in the real world, I have to use this clunker. What other feats of magic might it perform?
