Daniel Walter Scott's Premiere Pro course is built around seven real projects rather than a tour of the menus: a talking head monologue that gets revisited later, a wedding, a social media ad, a parkour documentary, a screencast tutorial and a photo slideshow. It runs just under 16 hours across 141 lectures, with 10 assignments and a 28-lecture audio section on noise, echo and syncing. The course is aimed squarely at people who have never opened Premiere, plus self-taught editors who want to tidy up bad habits and learn the shortcuts they never picked up.

Reviewers mostly love the teaching. Students call the style friendly and not patronizing, say the technical bits are explained in an engaging way, and a couple came back specifically because they had taken one of his other courses. The complaints cluster around two things. First, length: two reviewers say the course runs too long and the instructor repeats himself, and the lone one-star review in our sample finds the jokes distracting. Second, support: a four-star reviewer describes the Q&A as fairly useless, with replies rare. A Windows user was also a bit confused by the Apple version shown on screen.

The course was last refreshed in January 2025. Compared with the crash course sitting beside it, this is the slow, thorough route, and it is priced like a full course rather than a quick primer. For anyone who wants one course that goes from a blank timeline to a finished wedding edit and a YouTube tutorial, this is the pick. Anyone who only needs the basics in an evening will find it more than they need.

I'm a certified Adobe instructor (ACI) in Ireland. I'm also an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) and have completed the Adobe Certified Associate training (ACA). And I don't just do Adobe. Remember, media is a very broad term – digital blew out the borders, so we are all constantly learning.

I had taken a different Premiere Pro course that left me still questioning how to do things. I had taken another course with Daniel and looked for him specifically because I loved his style of teaching. I am appreciating the flow of the class and the instructor's style. It is informal yet informative. I do a bit of video editing in my job, but only knew very basic elements. This course has been helping me learn shortcuts and some tricks I did not know before. i dont know with this instructor he think him self comedy show ?? its nice to tell some jokes but keep talking and laughing and trying to be funny , but he is just as annoying and distracting. and constantly repeats himself , the session could be shortened to make more efficient use of the time

I went in with zero knowledge of Adobe Premiere; not even the basics. Dan explains everything in a logical way that actually builds skills.
