UX Design & User Experience Design Course - Theory Only (Udemy.com)

I love Dan's style of teaching: content driven and with a lovely sense of humour. I had already experienced that with the Figma Essentials Course. In this course, I was hoping to learn about the practicalities around working as a UX designer. At first, the course started out rather theoretical about the 5 phases and the 3 fields of UX. I still don't understand what is meant by the 'objectives' and how these are set. But from the topic of Personas onwards, the practical tips & tricks on the how and what were discussed. That was exactly what I was looking for. However, the tutorial seems to be created in 2016, whereas the UX field has further developed since. The fact that Adobe/Invision were elaborated on seemed rather outdated. Or are people still using this nowadays? Either way, why was Figma not talked about? Made me wonder whether the other topics were still relevant enough... Although I still enjoyed learning about the Persona drafting, the different types of usability testing as well as the UX reporting and A/B testing, the The course needs an update, I'd say. Oh, loved the 1995 Pride & Prejudice vibe of the theme song :D

I forgot to give this a formal review, so I posting this late. I think this is an awesome course for somebody just tipping their toes in UX designing. I understand you just went over the theory side of things for beginners and didn't get into too much detail, so I still feel like id probably get another Udemy course. But since they were so brief and engaging, I feel much more compelled to learn as much as I can about UX designing. I feel like the real kicker for me were the resources you talked about, Sketch, Adobe XD, Behance, and Niice, are all wonderful resources that I signed up for after the course. I feel like you just brushed over and could've gone just a little more depth, just so one knows the tools being used in the UX scene.

All in all, it is a great course to learn more about UX and deepen your knowledge, if you already know how to use the necessary tools (Adobe XD, InVision), but it is a good choice to get into UX/UI design as well. However, It would have been better to do some sort of quiz at the end of each module to make sure you understand everything. Just a suggestion. :)

i'm a 20+ year graphic designer. most of my experience is in print, about 80%. the other 20% is digital, creating graphics for screens, social media, and web. i don't know any coding. but after all these years i really need to learn UI/UX design. Daniel is very, very, very detailed in this course, a lot of it is way over my head. but the good thing is that i can always log in and rewatch any video in this course at anytime. after finishing the course, it then becomes a library of vital information in the UX world.

It gives a good and insightful overview with good examples from the industry; in particular, sharing your own experiences and your way of thinking I find most beneficial. I love Adobe since day one (Photoshop 4, Illustrator 7, Dreamweaver 1.2, Acrobat etc) and used it often over the years, mainly as tools when doing designs for my business. At this point, I want to go back to Adobe and bring my skills up with Xd so that I can build my own sites and much more. I also signed up for your UX Design Essentials course that I am going right after this one. Thank you Daniel, looking forward your next course.

I decided to purchase this course as I wanted to increase my knowledge of the subject. As it turns out Dan has reassured me that I actually know a fair chunk of it already and that I already carry out a lot of the UX process without realising it! I think this is a good overview of the theory behind UX Design and now I'm ready to get my teeth stuck into something a bit meatier.

Great course. A lot of good information for everyone who is new to UX and everyone who wants to start career in UX like me. Dan is great instructor who knows his stuff and presents it really well. I have taken other Dan's courses and enjoyed them all and surely will join some other of Dan's courses in the future. Thank you for the course Daniel.

It's a nice overview to understand the UX Design process step by step. Of course you need more content to get more in depth. I would advice this class if you need a refresher or want to have an idea of what UX design is and if it is for you.

Great course! Dan is very knowledgeable. I've purchased some of his other courses (Illustrator intro and advanced, Photoshop advanced and XD) because of his ability to explain things and make the courses challenging and fun. Perhaps this course would benefit by showing more in depth examples, but overall it is a great course for anyone making the transition from graphic / web design to UX. Thanks Dan!

It was a great match for me. I purchased this course a few months ago, but my brain hadn't come around to this information yet at the time. I since have gained some insight into my career as a Web Designer and what information I need to transition into a UX Designer role. This course provided me the big picture over view and helped me understand the UX Process better. Now I have a good foundational understanding of the UX Process and can start building on my previous skills to fully transition into UX. Thank you.
