This course is perfect if you are brand new to using a Nikon DSLR. This course is great if you have zero experience with photography or if you already know a lot about photography, but are new to Nikon DSLR cameras. Please note that this course will teach you how to use your Nikon DSLR camera. It is not a complete photography course that will teach you the artistic and creative side of photography. This course is a more tech-specific course.
We taught this course using one of the latest Nikon DSLRs in their budget DX DSLR series (the most popular camera for beginner photographers). For the first time, I really feel that I have a firm grasp on how to use my camera. I have taken other courses and either don't leave with enough information or get lost and give up. I am so thankful for this class to finally feel like I have an understanding of how my camera works and how to use it to achieve what I want in my photos.

Love how Will goes in depth reviewing camera features but also gives examples of scenarios on when they become important. He makes them relevant to real practice. His delivery and pace was perfect for me. I feel like I got a true understanding of the capabilities of the investment I made on my camera after completing this course. Thank you!

Fantastic! Covered everything one needs to know about the Nikon camera itself. In 2 hours, I've learned a ton about my camera, stuff I would not have been able to pick up from a general course . If you have a Nikon and are wondering if this class is worth it, it is. I do recommend you have your camera with you and go through step by step when they are showing the various buttons and menu options. Great class, great instructor, A++.

Initially, I was frustrated by the course and basically abandoned it. I took several other courses and then came back to this one. I am getting more out of this course now that I have taken a few basic beginner courses. Having done so, I am more familiar with the terminology which makes this course more understandable.

I have recently upgraded to a Nikon D5000 that a family member no longer uses. I wasn't sure at first if this course would be applicable to me since this particular model has been archived by the manufacturer, but much of the menu options that the instructor goes through on the sample camera were there on mine. (I should mention that my camera was originally bought secondhand, and didn't come with its manual.) I had no prior knowledge of things like aperture or ISO, so this course was perfect for me as a beginner. Each segment was easy to follow and organized so that if I was having trouble with a particular practice shot, I could easily go back through the videos and find the information that would help me troubleshoot the settings I needed to change. I would definitely recommend this course to any beginner photographer using a Nikon!

Goes over the settings in detail. I've been basically self-taught up till I recently started taking courses and this course explained some settings I did not know even existed and helped me to understand those I did know existed. Will describes/teaches at a level you can understand. Thanks Will and Phil...till the next course!!!

I have some experience with dslr cameras, but this is my first Nikon. Although my model is different from the one shown in the course, I could easily follow along with almost everything. In the few areas that didn't translate, the course at least taught me the functionality, which I then could easily search for in the manual for my exact model. I liked the instructor a lot too.

I started the course using a D5100 (not a top of the line Nikon). The optional settings on the D5100 are somewhat different, but I was still able to follow along. It's a good course and it helped me to gain more confidence as far as being able to move around inside of the camera settings. I plan on watching it again to become even more familiar with the process.

I thought the course was thorough and informative. I received this camera as gift and was super overwhelmed with how much I did not know. This course helped me feel more confident to get out a try to different things I've learned and now understand how and why to use them. The only suggestion I would make would be when explaining and showing the different lenses and filters, it would be cool to see examples of what they do/look like. Overall, great job and thank you!

This course is a great review of the Nikon camera functions. It is not generic because each camera is different and the instructors had to focus on one, the most affordable current model. However, even none of my Nikon bodies is the same as they used for the course, I still got some reinforcement of my knowledge. The most valuable part of the course is its practicality. I am pretty sure that novices will get a lot of useful advice from this course, and I would watch it BEFORE getting the first camera/lens to make a foundation for choosing the right gear and spend money wisely.
